Many of you probably remember my problems making power on my new setup last year.
You can get a refresher here if you forgot:

I didn't have a lot of time over the past year to eliminate possible problems because of work and I just got married. Well, I finally got around to figuring this thing out and we have a culprit: SPARK. I wasn't getting a good enough one.
A few weeks ago I tossed a Kenne Bell boost-a-spark on my car as a last ditch effort to make the power that I should. The car felt much better in the seat of my pants but we all know not to trust the butt dyno. Well this last week I got the car on to dyno and with a less aggressive timing curve I made 15 more peak whp and 90 more whp at 6500rpms. I'm very happy with my power now. At 13.5psi with a completely stock top end I'm making 500whp and 510wtq and it holds until redline now. The power curve is also MUCH smoother.

Looks like it wasn't my BZM motor like many people thought.

good to hear you got it worked out. havent seen you in a while, we'll have to meet up soon.
as for the problem, i want to say that im suspicious of something else being the root cause of your ignition system problem... but i am glad to hear that you found a way to solve it none-the-less.

Going to Byron on the 14th if you're interested. Should be a good amount of fast street cars there. Give me a call sometime soon....I'm around a lot more now.

Can you detail how you installed Boost-a-spark on our coilover setup? I'd heard it was just a one wire hook up... The price sure beats the HKS and it's nice that it activates only under boost. I've read that the HKS unit wears out the coil packs since it's always on (not that I believe everything I read)... Being less than 1/2 the price of the HKS isn't too shabby either!

Installing the BAS was easy as pie. The most difficult part was deciding where to mount the unit and untaping/exposing the tightly taped and tightly wound engine harness. After we were done and had cleaned it up you'd never even know it was there.
