I want to conclude this problem.

So I was right with my initial observation, the problem was due to a Utec's setting; knock settings. Txs told us to reduce all knock values by 10; we ended up reducing them a little further in some areas.
My understanding is the values represent knock sensitivity and thus were too sensitive on default settings.

Thanks to those whom helped. I have another issue i'll post about in another thread, so look out for it and lend a hand.

Thanks again

If your tuner isn't familiar with the utec why are u taking it to them???

It's like going to your dentist for a heart transplant.

If they never did one before RUN away before it goes BOOOOOOM

I respect you and you're super nice G PharmD, learning how to tune starts at the same point for everyone; trial and error. All EMS's have the same basic principals. If you've learned one, you can figure the other through trial and error and not ruin anything. I did with the AEM on my Legend. The tools of the trade are what’s needed. A good wideband and dyno are must haves.

My tuners education is in more common EMS's, my UTEC was his first attempt. Turbo XS doesn't have tuners even remotely close to my area, and when I posted on g35driver about tuners around here, even ones not approved, I got squat. I even asked Forged, GT & PF to buy a base map for my app, no go.

We learn, others learn and we all end up better for it.

/\ Utec is very easy to learn so just read the manual 10X and things will be much clearer. The only hard part really is setting the parameters right, the stock settings are to sensitive for our application. I'm pretty sure the timing and fuel will be the easy part since you and you friend already know how to tune..

Yea its definitely true. The cars currently tuned out to 5300 until it maxes out the stock injectors. we are sort of curious as to how much timing we can run. Ive seen txs turbonetics numbers and wonder if their numbers conservative .
