Default First fluid change with my V-3 Vortech Supercharger

Super easy.

Make sure you use standard hex tools (3/16") and not metric tools. I tried to use a 4.5mm metric hex and somewhat stripped the dipstick. It still opens fine but it has more play in it than it should. I forgot that Vortech is a made in the USA product so standard is necessary. The rest of my car is metric so... oh well.

Replacing the dipstick is $45 + shipping from vortech so don't make my mistake. Luckily mine still works fine and opens/closes tight with no issues.

Mine took EXACTLY 1 bottle. Once you've done it once then you know how much it needs so you don't REALLY have to check the dipstick again.

So that means $10 to change the supercharger oil and after the first change at 2500 miles (I did mine a tad early at 2150 miles) you won't have to change it again for 7500 miles more and 7500 miles after that each time. The full kit comes with 3 bottles and it initially comes fully charged with fluid so that means you're good for 2500 + 7500 + 7500 + 7500 = 25000 miles.

I'm very happy with it all and the only downside is the little drain hose isn't long enough so you have to remove the inner fender plastic wheel well covers to get in there. It's very simple to drain it. I will eventually cut a hole in the plastic with a dremel so I don't have to flex the plastic to get in there and drain it. I may do a plastic clip style "door" to make my life easier in the future.

If you're considering a V-3 instead of a V-2. DO IT!

Oh yeah, another error I made was not putting all the clips back into the fender wheel well plastics. It rubbed a bit when I took it for the test drive right afterwards and I thought I broke the supercharger.

In fact it was just the plastic wheel well material rubbing on my tires.

no I did not rub a hole in it b/c I only drove it for about 200 yards before I discovered the rubbing. The fix was done really quickly.

Sorry I don't have any pics now but I will do it later.
