Default Oil related questions

I am building my own turbo kit in the near future, and have a couple of questions regarding oil. The turbo is a Garret T3 60-1, journal bearing.

Where do you boosted guys tap for turbo oil supply? I was looking at the oil filter sandwitches, and they seem like a good option. If I don't get a filter sandwitch where should I tap in to? Also, would you guys recomend an oil cooler? I live up north and the summer temperatures almost never go past 90 deg. F, so I'm wondering if it really needed. The turbo will be somewhat under the car, so it shouldn't really get heatsoked either.

I also took note of the oil pressure, and was wondering how accurate the OEM gauge is. It seems than in 6th gear on the highway @ 80mi/h the pressure is about 60psi, and when accelerating hard it jumps to 80psi. That would be too way too much for a turbo. I have read that a turbo doesn't need any more than 40psi. Are most of you runing oil restrictors?

Advice/suggestions/recomendations all welcome

Tap at stock oil pressure sensor. I would monitor temps and if they don't go too high, skip the cooler. Most kits run restrictors - you need far less oil with BB turbos, so necessary.

^ Agree, T fitting on stock oil pressure sensor. Be careful threading it into the oil pan as others have cracked it by over tightening.

If the turbo is under the car, I would be more concerned with returning the oil (needing a pump). Also, a T3 60-1 is rather small for this size engine and may sacrifice up top, but I'll let you be the judge there.

Don't think it's too small of a turbo, and my hp goals are about 360whp. The turbo flows 61lbs. As far as oil return goes, I already have a very good oil return pump. Brass hears and all, with continuous duty DC motor.
