Yeah, I couldn't imagine not having a boost gauge.

It did when I installed it wrong, turns out they used 2 blacks, one ground, and one for recalibration........ I had both grounded and it would just go into a calibration loop and look as if it locked up.

Highway there's no reason that exhaust wont work with the kit, clearly it's not the best exhaust for boost (as with the invidia) but who cares.

I managed to squeek out just over 25 mpg on the highway using that gauge
Are you not running a boost controller? my boost controller clearly shows the boost, as with peak boost that was hit. When I had my civic, I had both a boost controller and a super AVC-R I never ever ever looked at my boost gauge, I always went to the EBC, so when I did my Z I knew not to waste my money.

a small gauge < < < boost controller.

Now if you're not running a EBC then yes a boost gauge is a must.

Would you rather look at this

or

I for one love the peak boost. while doing full throttle runs I don't have to watch the gauge, but once I'm off the throttle and not worried about watching the road I can view just how high my boost went.

+ a boost controller is almost a must for most people. so why buy two boost gauges?

the aem gauges (afr, boost) are good too, a lil on the budget side but still, otherwise imo defi is the way to go

No boost controller....yet. I may sell that boost gauge and put in a water temp or oil temp if I did the HKS EVC. Defi's are prettier than that gauge you posted above

Still not used to this power level yet....5,000 rpms on up with 360 DD down is pretty hairy when it is cold out!

I had planned to install a BC solenoid and retune with 6psi and 9psi maps way back in June, but after my troubles with MRC, I did not trust them to push my motor to the max psi it 'should' be able to take. I am very glad I didn't because I would then have two tunes to erase

IMO weather you do haltech or proefi...both will control boost.. if you are going to spend money on a standalone might as well get one that does more rather than having to get too many accessories to get vpro to work like getting the evc...but thats IMO. THe evc is sleek looking anyways, but you know where i am getting at.

awesome Thx J... It seems like everyone suggests a single type of exhaust which i'm dead set against on a Z. On any other FI car like an RX or Supra or 240 they are fine just not a Z IMHO.. again thanx

nah its just what i like, pretty easy installation, bolts right up to the rev Y on the PL kit perfectly and its basically straight exit, which works good FI...but... i mean JIC also makes a 3" exhaust with dual exit
http://www.intensepower.com/jicmaspdety24.html
or you could jsut go with any of the true duals and mod it to fit the kit

It is as simple as making a Y-ing adaptor. People know I mean business with only one exit

I have been lazy to get under the back and fab up a right bumper hole cover. I was going to make it and have Tony wrap it in CF...but he got out of the CF game. I might have to beg him and bribe him with many beers and hookers to do it or just teach me how

I did a custom exhaust. Where the downpipe ends I extended 3" piping out to a cutout and then the last 2 bolt flange on the stock exhaust bolts to it. Its a 3' section that can be removed. It works awesome for the sleeper style, will outflow any 3" exhaust(pretty much a straight pipe) and cost me 100$.(for the stainless piping and flanges) With the cutout closed it sounds completely stock..with it open it sounds like a maniac.

lol...i jsut like the single exit on supras, but its all pure choice and you have "31 falvors" to choose from... all depending on budget, goals, looks and style desired.

I'm making a reverse Y to have the Down pipe bolt up to my Greddy TiC dual. Kinda sucks I'm going to hack up my exhaust but it's to sexy looking from the back not to use it.

get them to take it out of the kit and trade up for a Haltec. It is more money but trust me....you won't like the UTEC. It saves you time and money now since you won't have to retune, sell the UTEC, etc.

You should also get heat wrap and a turbo blanket
honestly i dont know if i can agree with that. I know the utec has issues with hot starts but I havent had any yet, and I live in FL. I guess its just the way you drive and let car the warm up/cool down? Also, I have the powerlab kit and am running a utec and have not had any issues with smoothness or jerking out of boost. I think that may be more of a tune issue?? just my .o2
