I bit the bullet and got the powerlab GT35R
After about 6 months of debating i orderd the PL 35R kit today. Kit comes with everthyng, even fuel and a utec. Just looking to gain some knowledge from you FI guys out there. Any other parts i should get before i start the install? I plan on getting a defi boost gauge and maybe a few others, also looking to see what AF gauge you guys recomend? Anyone know the part number on one step colder plugs? Any other help, recomendations, or suggestions before i start the install is greatly appreciated.

1st...get rid of the UTEC...I hate mine, it jerks out of boost, transitions aren't very smooth, etc., etc....
get them to take it out of the kit and trade up for a Haltec. It is more money but trust me....you won't like the UTEC. It saves you time and money now since you won't have to retune, sell the UTEC, etc.
You should also get heat wrap and a turbo blanket

I recommend that you consult with jeffie7. He did a successful self-install of the PowerLab GT35R kit. He is also a very competent and honest guy.

Negative. You should talk to anybody BUT HIM. He did a hack job on the install and judging from the numerous phone call discussions that I witnessed him having with the staff at Intense, he clearly didn't know what the hell he was doing.

+1 on all and suggesting jeffie for DIY reference ... to the op...
it all depends on your goal and budget, out the box you'll get a great kit as is. If you wanted to take it a step further, i suggest get tuner kit, 550-650cc injectors, walboro and standalone like proefi haltech or fcon. Otherwise utec will suffice as provided with full kit.
As additional mods to your build regardless...a nice 3" exhaust like the JIC ST, Powerlab 3/8 spacer and powerlab vacuum block to clean up your engine bay and set up your vacuum lines nicely. 1 step cold plugs NKG will do, check on ebay even for a good deal on them. Start looking for a good tuner in your area to tune the car once you are done. For the installation extra heatwrap would be nice.
Turbo blanket would be nice but if you go for it find a nice one, so do it when you are ready for it(dont get a cheap tinfoil looking one), it will be ok with out it though(survives arizona summer heat ).
For a lil bling, add a polishing to stock plenum and you sir got yourself a sick build!!!

-In lieu of heat wrap and a turbo blanket, you could get the turbine and the entire hot side of the turbo kit JetHot coated. It looks much cleaner IMO.
-In addition to a boost and wideband A/F gauges, it was recommended to me to get a fuel pressure gauge.
-Upgrade your clutch. Or if you have an auto trans, get SGP's or GTM's valvebody upgrade along with a trans cooler.
-If your Z is a base model with an open diff, get an OEM VLSD or an aftermarket limited slip diff.

+1 on not getting the tinfoil-looking blanket....I didn't see what blanket I bought first and I paid 42.50 for this ugly wrap over my turbo's hot side. i wish i had asked to see it first.

SnyperZ is a nice guy in your area and has some solid experience with the kit despite what others report in this thread (he had a difference of opinion with one of the vendors not related to the kit but I think they've worked it out). He's a very quick study and I'm fairly certain he'll help you out if you get stuck. If you do choose the Haltech, he can give you some pointers there also.

You are wrong Raj. Please stay out of this, because you have no first hand knowledge and you don't know the facts. Jeffie7 is a much better source of info for the OP. He also installed a production GT35R kit, which is what the OP has.

Jeffie's post on his install was a wealth of knowledge. he pointed out alot of stuff that I didn't even see in the instructions. His build thread was very detailed and helped me a ton in setting up my kit.

UMZ is right about the Haltech, its an awesome standalone and very easy to use and learn. Also dont waste your time jet hot coating your piping. They are stainless so wrapping would be a much more effective way of keeping the heat this kit(along with most kits) produces(don't have to worry about rust like with mild steel). I first installed the kit without any wrapping and AIT temps remained a constant 95*+plus while highway driving and 115* driving around town. After wrapping the downpipe, installing a turbo blanket and putting some heat shielding over the rad. hose(where the charge pipe goes over) my AITS VERY SLOWLY rise while at idle and are about 5* over ambient on the highway and about 10-15* over driving around town.
