Default tuning/exhaust a must on sc or tc? miles?

How many miles would you say is too much before adding a tc or sc (8 psi) to a stock motor. is more tuning and going to aftermarket exhaust needed for gains of more than 90-100 hp on vortech or single turbonetics? Anybody that knows; any help would be appreciated

There's plenty of people boosting on engines with over 100k. Just make sure it's running healthy and check compression.

You will always need some form of tuning when going with boost. I'm sure the stock exhaust will work with a TC or SC setup, but most optimal power will be made with a larger ID exhaust and HFCs or test pipes.

From my personal experience I know I been running a vortech s/c non rev my car without a tune and on a stock exhaust for like 3 or 4 months. I do feel that you need both sooner or later if you are addicted to power. I know im trying to do my own tune and trying to find a bootleg exhaust. Damn economy and holiday season! I cant speak for a turbo.. sorry. Good luck

bought my 05 z with 12,000 unmolested miles procharger on at 12,700 miles stayed on until 55,000molested miles and was turbonetics single turbo for 600 miles until i decided that i had just wasited 5k on a single turbo that i wasnt happy with. as long as the compression is good boost away just tune it no matter what.

Yeah, people have even started boosting around 100k and have been fine - but it's still a crap shoot. If you're looking for piece of mind and a better chance of not blowing things up, definitely get a tune.
