Default Need some Cam Assistance

I recently purchased a built motor from another forum member that was supposed to have included Tomei cams. It appears that the cams in the motor are not Tomei and are possibly stock. I have taken pics and am looking for the more experienced members to help me confirm what I have. Other info on the cams is as follows:

Bank 1 exhaust - markings:
Yellow stripe
Stamped 268 on the front end inside the valve cover
Stamped V3+ on the ring just inside the valve cover
Raised lettering on the cast portion of the cam - AL5 - RE

Bank 1 intake - markings:
Raised lettering on the cast portion of the cam - AL5 - RE

Bank 2 exhaust - markings:
Yellow stripe
Stamped 268 on the front end inside the valve cover
Stamped T3+ on the ring just inside the valve cover
Raised lettering on the cast portion of the cam - AL5 - LH

Bank 2 intake - markings:
Cream stripe
Stamped 268 on the front end inside the valve cover
Stamped Z1+ on the ring just inside the valve cover
Raised lettering on the cast portion of the cam - AL5 - LH

Any help figuring this out would be appreciated. Thanks guys and Gothchicks.

Been down that road already......seller has been unreliable. Motor is being completely torn down and rebuilt. Most parts have been confirmed, but these cams are a mystery. I don't know how to make the pics small enough to load. Do you know who the mod is in this section?

Dont seem to be stock. The stock ones would not be stamped 268. Tomei does make 268 cams.

I have like 10 more pics, but all are over 2MB and they will not attach. I have to locate a mod....might be a few minutes.

I spoke with a rep at Tomei NA yesterday and he said the cams should have their name on them in the middle and have the duration and model # stamped on the ring where the 268 is stamped. I have looked at more pics of Tomei cams than I can count, but most are the same pic from their press release. The press pic does not look a lot like what I have. I could be happy with Tomei 268's, but until I positively ID these, I can't sell them or even compare them to another duration to see if I would want to go more or less aggressive.

Thank You to all who are trying to help me out.

if you had the motor together, you could have used a degree wheel to check the specs.

other than that, you may want to send the cams out to a cam grinder and have them spec'd.

Tomei 268 camshafts are the only camshafts I have seen marked with "268". A Tomei 264 is marked "264"..etc...etc.

Stock cams do not have a duration marking on them. Soooo...that look like a Tomei 268 to me!

of course,......that is assuming that someone didn't just stamp a stock cam to make someone else think it is a Tomei 268.

This is my only concern with them being Tomei. Also, the odd stamping of the T3+, Z1+ and V3+ on 3 of the cams and one with no marks at all. WTF???

I was, and still am, hoping that these marking will mean something or be an identifying mark for these cams.

Does everyone agree that they do not appear to be stock cams? I have not seen the stock ones to compare. Thanks yet again.

They can buy stock blanks and make them what they wants. Only way to know for sure is to send them off for measurement.

as best I can recall, these are Tomei 268's - not sure if it will help, but these are the only pics I have as they currently reside in my engine. They stopped making them a few years ago.
