NHRA Rule # 4.8 Parachutes: Mandatory for cars 150 MPH or faster.
MANDATORY!!!
a la 2008 NHRA rule book: In the rules for bracket classes (also TNT general running), Super Street (10.90 index) and Super Gas (9.90 index), it is listed as: "Mandatory on any car that runs 150 mph or faster."

it's only class specific.
Well at the tracks we run at.... if you run over 150 and do not have a chute..... they do not let you run again. THEREFORE WE HAVE A CHUTE!!
Why do you care so much?
I mean.... your first and only posts are about our chute?
Seems like you joined the forum today just to discuss our chute??

That track has 2 turn-off areas, a short and a long....the area between the short and long turnoffs was leave covered. Without pulling the chute Chris had to go through the leafy area....but he pulled the chute everytime after that and was slowed well before the first turn-off

I couldn't find anything about it being class specific in my rule book(2008) and revisions as of Sept 2008....got a source?
The 2 tracks I run at go by this rule as well. They enforce all NHRA rules regardless of class designation. E.G. I get kicked off every time because I don't have a roll cage in my vert running below 13.5.
I'm curious, though. Why do people always use Prostars when Draglites are lighter? What are the specs on the wheels and the tires (both front and rears), if you don't mind sharing?

Honestly, I just liked the look better I used to run draglights on my mustangs back in the day and I'm burnt out on them.
