Hey Dr,

I'm trying to find out about gas milage before/after... I never got an answer from other people who has SC... is it that bad?

Thanks for the good videos. If only you'd put a good RD your car would be perfect

I just saw the vids... wow the sound is nice after 4k rpm. Below that it bugs me a bit...

I might have second thoughts about the Procharger or anything for my car. I can't think of any "trusted" specialists in my area. I get queezy when Nissan techs touch my car for anything. That's my area though...

Can you make a vid from outside and inside of the car of you warm starting the engine and then running from 1st-3rd (good enough..)?

Thanks!

Was it just me or did the dyno video have some nasty feedback on the right channel?

I think the source was supposed to be mono, so it left the right channel with that nasty sound.

The left channel should be the source when encoding the video in mono, so that should've been the way to do it.

Oh well.... i set the slider to left channel and deal with it for now. :-P

Default Question on supercharging.......

Why are OEM superchargers always so much quieter than after market installations.

I would imagine that ultimately they source components from similiar sources.

Any thoughts?

Ever hear a 2003 Mustang or a Ford Lightning at WOT? OEM superchargers are ussually roots type not centrifical like aftermarket. I like how you edited that UGLY squeal when you first turn on the car... I have had both Superchargers and Turbo cars. I hate superchargers but the PRO Charger is a really nice complete kit, except for that SQUEAL that seems like there are rats getting chewed up and screaming. I couldn't stand that sound everytime I turn on my car.. Sorry but I spent 30K on my car for it to sound like a bucket. Perhaps if Pro Charger would do something about that sound I would think otherwise... And its funny how they come here and post "We don't know what that sound is and its very hard for us to mimic that same sound because we don't know what your talking about" when I have heard 4 different "pro charged" Z's installed all by 4 different tuners and they all Squeal horrid at startup... Its to bad nobody has a video for those who don't know what im talking about, just imagine a POS car that's on its last leg screaming for about 3-5 seconds like the belt is about to snap off... DAMN!! I would be embarrased... Not hating on your setup dude, PRO CHARGER is a kick *** setup and excellent HP Numbers that are proven. But I will choose TURBO again, even though I did consider the PRO Charger.. Congrats and Good luck with your setup, car looks good, must be the 40 coats of Zaino

Very nice Doc.

Personally, I'm going to wait to see what the Vortech and turbo applications end up like.
I have to admit, I am a bit turned off by:
1. The jet engine sound
2. The belt squeal
3. The offset intercooler

I'd take the squeal, starting you car last like what?

3-5 seconds.

It could sound like 10,000 Richard Simmons singing, if it's putting that much power down then I'd still do it.

boy..that sound is really really nasty. it's a shame because i love the prochargers physical design...but that sound...

I hope the turbos work and are quieter..or at least dont sound like a broken drill.

Unfortunetley we can all predict that a Turbo Setup will be making more power than this supercharger... for the reason of "boost increase." And I doubt Pro Charger will offer a kit that makes 25PSI of boost unless its custom to their customers which im sure might require some work besides just changing out the pulley but maybe a different blower. As opposed to just getting a TT Setup and buying an electronic boost controller and do as you please. Believe me, if your at a metting or just a hangout at the mall and hear this squeal it sounds HORRID!! Like I said, its a shame because the kit is very nice indeed and me being a supercharger hater actually like this kit, but that squeal is just to annoying and I would hate to listen to that everytime I turn on my car... I rather listen to the soothing sound of a blow off valve when my car passes you

I have now heard 3 ATI Procharged 350Zs in person and have yet to hear one with belt squeal. Dr. Bonz's Z does not have belt squeal. The sound you hear is the SC whine.

I think it sounds pretty mean

My mechanic thinks he found a part that was not fit correctly for belt alignment. He has custom fabricated a peice that we hope (cross our fingers) will take out all belt squeel. I looked at what he was talking about on my 3/4 done supercharged car and see exaclty what he was pointing out. I think he may have found the 10 richard simons screaming belt problem.

Read the thread correctly guys... I said the belt squeals WHEN YOU START THE CAR. Funny, you say DR Bonz car's doesn't squeal yet he say's other wise...

DR Bonz: "The belt squeal usually goes away after it warms up."

All ATI Pro Charger Squeals, not only have I heard 4 in person.. I have heard others here on the message board talk about it. Spencer, why don't you have one of the 3 people that you know post a video of the car start up from a COLD start. I would love to see that, because they must have a magical kit than cause up to this day everyone's squeal except the Manufactures go figure And im not stupid I know what a supercharger wine is, and the Videos he showed don't show the "squeal" I am talking about, he actually edited that part out which I thought was quite funny

So when you start your car it doesn't squeal...? You don't hear that sound like dave simons yelling? WOW! You are the first person (besides ATI) that their kit is flawless than... Hum, I wonder what you did different... Post a Video from a COLD start up than?

That crack ***** description was out of line.

Unless you really meant "rapping" in which I can see Eminem "bustin' some rhymes" as he rapped her to death.

Sorry, it trouble me to think of that kinda bad stuff.

There are 10,000 other analogies out there.

It's fine you don't like the Procharger, I'm hoping to see some very nice TT set ups in the future. Hope yours turns out well.
