It's fine you don't like the Procharger, I'm hoping to see some very nice TT set ups in the future. Hope yours turns out well.

OK guys, here goes,
The video of the dyno was my fault. When I spliced it together, I had another RCA jack plugged into my Dazzle video capture device and it picked up that sound. The second one I did was fine since I had discovered it and pulled it out.
My Butt Dyno says that this kit is AMAZING! It feels MUCH faster than stock and at about 4000 PRM's this thing THROWS you back into your seat. It is a good thing that I had the rev limited increased to 7100 because you get there MUCH faster now.
OK, about the sound. I have to admit that the first time I started the car up at AA, I was pretty surprised at how loud it is. I am talking about the SUPER CHARGER WHINE and NOT any belt squeal. I had the windows down and no radio on. With the windows closed and the radio on, or if the AC is blowing in the car, you really don't hear it much at all. After you hit 4K Rpms, all you hear (inside the car) is the engine growling and the exhaust.
The belt squeal does occur but not every time and ONLY after a cold start and ONLY for like 5-10 seconds. After that, you only hear the high pitched whine that sounds like a jet engine.
Jason: My intercooler is centered perfectly. Take a look at my pics posted at 350Zfrenzy.
Wicked, are you still mad at me for debunking your "miracle" wax?
If someone comes out with a TT that puts out 25lbs of boost, they might like how it feels and sounds for the first two days they have it, but what about after they blow their engine up? I bet that'll sound a lot worse than any belt squeal!
Look, this car is my daily driver. I don't plan on racing it. I want to have it a LONG time. Getting into questionably safe boost levels was not my goal here. For God sakes, we're talking approx. 420 BHP at only a very safe 7 psi of boost here. What more could a man want in a daily driver? This leaves unmentioned, the fact that this presently fictional TT setup with be SIGNIFICANTLY more expensive to buy and especially to install and tune!
One final thing. I did not purposely edit the start up out of the video. The "Movie Maker" software I used has a bit of a delay when you hit "record". I hit the button before I started the car since I really wanted to include that in the video but the recording actually starts about 2-3 seconds later. It's a pain in the A$$ and that is why the videos look so "choppy" at times.
I will now go directly to my garage and do a cold start up and film it for all to see.

And I doubt Pro Charger will offer a kit that makes 25PSI of boost

Bonz I don't care if you liked my wax or not, I didn't manufacture it and works fine for me im over that...
BONZ Either your an idiot or a "newbie" to the import modifcation scene. First off, your 7PSI can be as dangerous as boosting 15psi without propering tuning or BAD GAS. I had a forced induction vehicle (Honda Civic SI) Stock engine boosting 12PSI for 1 year and half and my compression was 210 all across the board before I sold it and got the 350z... WHy?? Because it was tuned to perfection proper A/F Ratio. Sure, their is only so much stock internals can hold but go to www.clubsi.com where I came from and their was people blowing their **** at 5PSI!!! of boost, my friend was one of them and he only drove the car a few times because he is in the military and travels a lot. You and I know that our car's were not meant to be forced induction, you run the same risk as any TT setup. How is "Greddy's TT" 7PSI any different from Pro Charger's 7 PSI? If anything Greddy's is probably more reliable because it will come with E-manage which is a programable engine management instead of like the procharger which uses an FMU to compensate for the fuel.. Let alone Greddy also gives you 440cc injectors so you know that your not maxing out your injectors at higher boost levels... I wonder what your duty cycle will be on those stock injectors once ATI Releases their higher pulley system? And what I meant about 25psi is the upgradeability to those that want to build their motors. I had the 18g Greddy Kit on my Civic SI and the most I boosted on race gas was 15psi so I am sure the 350z kit will have no problem doing the same... As far as being more expensive you are right because you get more PARTS.. Do you get injectors? Do you get engine management? do you get nice piping and trust me the piping that comes with the ATI kit is not "Show quality". You go and buy those extra parts that thes Japanese companies put on their kits and your budget for that supercharger will increase too, go see how much a set of Injectors are or an Engine Managment Do you get a nice Intercooler? And I don't mean "intercooler" in general im talking "apperance" Because you can put your intercooler next to greddy's and hand's down Greddy's intercooler is by far cleaner looking, and looks nicer on the car instead of a radiator type. Dude, you get what you pay for bro. You bought an american made kit, and that means cost will be cut down in half as opposed to a kit manufactured in Japan that has to be shipped and you know the rest... Who said You can't have a daily driver TT setup.. I have plenty of friends who have 400+ whp on Supras that are daily driven. Im not talking $hit on ATI, I told you their kit is cool (except for the squeal) and you can't beat the price. Sure the FMU is a form of a bandaid but it works... My basic point to you and to get across is that no matter what force induction whether it be Supercharger/Turbo or EVEN Nitrous you will run a great risk in blowing your $hit up if something were to go wrong. So don't try and make it seem like your 7psi of Supercharged power is indestructible you ever get bad gas or run your car on a HOT DAY? Than you'll know what pinging is and until people start blowing up engine's than you won't know what the weakest link is on our cars... I knew it in my Honda.. and any HONDA tuner will tell you Cylinder #3 on a B16 Motor (Civic SI) runs HOT! And that the weakest link is our rings... That's what most guys blew when they put forced induction. Its how you drive, maintain your car (oil changes, spark plugs, etc..) and tuning, thats what reflects your lifeline of the engine you can have 7-12 psi of supercharged power or TT and be reliable as long as all those things I mentioned are a priority... So happy boosting and congrats on your setup!! Must feel very nice!

My car has belt squeel today I was handed a label that shows how to reroute the belt or something that is supposed to go somehwhere on the car but I wasn't told where it goes and I didn't understand what it was, I was just handed a sticker and told, hey this is how your belt routes or something like that. The squeel doesn't bother me but it's there and so is oil everywhere.
Wicked...
You make some very good points, but you need to learn some communication skills, bro. After seeing this thread and your "miracle" wax thread, it seems clear to me that you bring much of the flak you get on yourself by the tone you take with your posts.
I think you make some very valid points about TT and it (along with having to save up some $'s) is the reason I'm waiting to purchase FI. I don't mind dropping $2K extra on the GReddy if you get $2K more worth of FI goodness.
As for this... #3 is not bad on the latest installs. I think this has been fixed. #2... if it's only a few seconds at start up, I can live with that. More importantly, if it's only a few seconds, I guarantee you it will go away after breaking in the new components. If there were a real problem, it would be more constant.
The one that worries me is #1. I definitely want the power, but I don't want my car to sound like a "low flying plane". If this were the only way for FI, I'd still buy it. With other options, I'll wait and see.

Very nice Doc.
Personally, I'm going to wait to see what the Vortech and turbo applications end up like.
I have to admit, I am a bit turned off by:
1. The jet engine sound
2. The belt squeal
3. The offset intercooler.

LOL You guys crack me up on that Miracle wax stuff, I sure learned something... (NEVER POST PERSONAL EXPERIENCES ON MY350z) Funny because 1 I was just posting a PERSONAL experience but I don't want to get into that here as it was covered before...
Hey man to each their own, you don't like that JET Plane sound but your OK with the Insane Squeal, I LOVE that JET plane sound but hate the squeal.
You make some very good points, but you need to learn some communication skills, bro. After seeing this thread and your "miracle" wax thread, it seems clear to me that you bring much of the flak you get on yourself by the tone you take with your posts.
Wow, please let me know what software you are using to evaluate the "tone" that IM trying to give out. Everyone reads threads differently and some take it personal and other DONT UNDERSTAND it. I never said TT is better than Supercharger.
Or Greddy is better than ATI... They are both good in their own ways, I was just voicing my opinion on why I would choose Turbo over ATI not supercharger in general... I have had both Superchared and Turbo vehicles that did not come factory. I had to say I didn't enjoy the supercharger as much as I did turbo. But ATI has really impressed me with the way they have everything setup and like I said for the price you pay its a hell of a bargain... And as far as I am concerned ATI has produced higher HP numbers than greddy at a boost to boost comparision level. Than again your comparing apples to oranges, ATI is a HUGE BLOWER and Greddy's TT are small little snails.. You put a Turbo the size of ATI's blower than see how much power you make at 7psi of boost! But I doubt that will happen because of clearance issues...
hey guys is this miracle wax purple and come in a little white tube and smells pretty good? if so this stuff is made in the town i live in. i've gone to their warehouse where it is made. i've used it on my car for years and it's pretty good.
I have to agree with the duck. Wicked, you obviously have way more knowledge of engines than I do, but you do take a very aggressive tone in your posts, even though you always proclaim that you're not disrespecting anybody or anything.
I also have to agree with some of the above posts, the SC whine is a little disconcerting. I guess I'll just have to see one in person.

I've heard a vortech centrifugal blower on a friends s-10, and it isn't that loud in comparo to the Z's procharger. It reminds me of my old-school toyota with a TRD gear drive. In my opinion, I think the "gear whine" might be from the eloborate SC drive. I notice that there is a seperate gear assembly that is connected to the Z's serpentine belt and then that in turn has a another belt that is connected to the actual SC housing. I could be wrong, I'm just stating my observation. How much oil can you fill that asembly with?
Just want to add my experience with the belt squeal. I had it at first, only on a cold start. Then I put some miles on the car and retightened the belt as you are supposed to do. Went a few days with no sign of the squeal. Now, its doing it again, but not on the first start in the morning. It only does it when I start the car after work for some reason. Anyway, I'm going to recheck the serpentine belt tension again in a little bit, so hopefully one more adjustment will take care of it for a while.
DrBonz- Yours may not have had the squeal when AAM had the car, but since you have put some miles on it, it might need to be retightened. Have you done this?

Wicked, you start every post as a personal attack and then try to soften it at the end by throwing in some complement. You do need to rethink how you reply sometimes.
First off, did you not see the smilie face I put after my comment about the wax? That means IT WAS A JOKE! I figured we had beaten that horse to death and had buried the hatchet on it but I guess it is still bothering you apparently.
To respond to your post, no I am not an idiot. I think that most people on this board will back me up on this. I'm not sure about your level of education but your grammer and spelling seem to answer this question for me.
I AM however a Newb to engine modification and like any intelligent person, I go to where I can learn more. That's why I am here. You obviously have a lot of knowledge in this field but to call someone an idiot is out of line. It would be like me calling you an idiot for not being able to name the origins, insertions, actions, innervations, and blood supplies to every muscle in the human leg. I went to school for 25 years to learn that and I wouldn't expect you to know it. By the same token, you shouldn't expect me to know all there is to know about FI.
That is why I had an EXPERT do this for me. Mike and crew at AA know more about FI than you will ever know my friend. I really don't plan on getting any bad gas but I suppose that would screw with your engine with or without any type of FI wouldn't it.
That's fine, but you didn't say that. You just said 25 psi of boost. Obviously this would add even MORE to the total cost since you have to do so much to the engine to get there.
I'm done with this guy.

HERE are some much better videos of the Procharger in action.
http://350zfrenzy.com/ftp/ed/
I have one at engine startup after it was sitting cold for about 3 hours.
The next is the same with the hood up.
The next is a short acceleration with the camera inside the car.
Next is a Z Flyby.
Finally one more really cool sounding flyby.
Special thanks to my daughter Ashley for the videography!

I think Dr Bonz has a hell of a daily driver. From his fly by 1 video, I think his whole neighborhood knows where Bonzy is by that supercharger whine. I love it.
But that start up with the hood open reminds me of a dry cut saw. As long as they warrenty the supercharger, im happy.
Now after seeing this baby in action, im torn between shelling out for the ATi SC or waiting for more news on the TTs.

As Doug and I were watching these he thought that it was a little loud. Now I agreed, but it could just be the video. I do recall Paul's being real loud at first until the belts were adjusted. Doug says it sounds as if they are too tight. More specifically the gelmen belt being to tight and not to the deflection spec listed in the manual. Like I said before it is over video so its hard to validate noises. I would just quickly check on the belts in the system. He said it got much quieter when the belts were adjusted with no startup squeal.
Thanks for the videos, I enjoy looking at the Zaino Special Edition Backyard Track anytime! Good Luck!

That third file, named "Procharger From ****.." had me a little worried...

Gives new meaning to the term "blown."
Thanks for all the great a/v and info!

aaahhh, that would be cockPIT!
Unfortunately, Jeremy had to take down the videos due to bandwidth issues.
I am e-mailing them (some of them) to another host. Hold tight folks.

"Unfortunetley we can all predict that a Turbo Setup will be making more power than this supercharger... for the reason of "boost increase." And I doubt Pro Charger will offer a kit that makes 25PSI of boost "
This comment was for the person that said that ATI will make more power. And that was my response to him, you can't adapt an electronic boost controller to your Supercharger, meaning I can boost 20psi on my Greddy kit if I wanted too of course the ENGINE will not like that and no matter how great it is its going to blow up.

Its to bad you don't know my background but that's ok... Im not going to get into that I already know once you put your mind into it their is nothing that will change it I can tell you that I am a piston designer for turbo type pistons and that still wouldn't change your mind...
