Default Car Wont Rev Past 6200 Rpms ????

I am going to be taking the car to the shop on Monday but was curious as to why my car is hitting redline at 6200 rpms...

My utec is set at 7200 rpms ?


Mods are in my sig any of you guys have any ideas.... this is a list of things i was told so far it could be ....

1. to much gap in plug ... right now they are .028
2. Coil pak going bad ?
3. Utec running 2.6 and should be updated to 2.8 .
4. My tach is not set right ? ( this one was a little stranges since if you look at my dyno sheet it tachs out at 6200 )

Any suggestions would be cool....

thats not even the stock redline. but without the latest UTEC software, its hard to say if its a mechanical problem

i would upgrade to the 2.8 software. it was a pretty big redesign.

could you maybe have a boost cut set and its overboosting?

ding ding ding .. .... you got it .... i updated software to the 2.8 and was re loading the map....

I was looking at my parameters and noticed boost cut.. there it was staring me in the eye. Raised it to 40 psi since well i have a vortech so not worried about over boosting.... took it for a spin and it went to 6800rpms were redline is ....

So now back to the dyno and get some higher numbers now that my boost hit 11 psi not 9psi my last dyno graph was done at ...... hit 387 rwhp only going to 6200rpm so hopefully i can get some higher numbers.


So what innovations were in the 2.8 ver...

I hit the boost cut the other night @ 11psi. It was 20 degrees out though. Pretty violent, didnt really feel like a rev limiter..
Good to know its working though

update my dyno with the boost cut fixed ..... 390rwhp and 350tq ... car was heat soaked as well... 11psi
