This post is to let everyone know I am joining the team at Altered Atmosphere Motorsports as the service/shop manager and to assist with tuning development. After going to and searching around at a few other major shops over the United States (I traveled all over), I decided that AAM was going to be my new home.

This shop is well known on the east coast. I’ve always heard really good things but I had to check it out for myself. When I got to Altered I was overwhelmed with the potential I saw possible. After getting to know the people who work here, I have already had many ideas of how to utilize their potential to bring you the latest and best products possible. I spoke with Mike and Clint at length and saw that they were understaffed and that help was badly needed in the shop. They needed someone capable who has experience running the shop part of a business.

(The above was typed my first day of work on Monday Jan 12th with my first impressions of AAM)

(Now jump ahead to Thursday Jan 15th)

During my first days at Altered this is what I see. With the resources I now have to utilize I see that more potential is here than I originally thought. We have an almost 15,000 square foot facility, a full in house engine CNC machining center (no other 350Z/G35/G37 shop in the country has the level of precision equipment we have and I’ve been to a lot of shops, we can laser scan a VQ engine and restore the block itself to blueprint specifications insanely sick stuff), a full CNC production machine shop, a fabrication center, and a Dynojet AWD dyno. We also have a lot of lifts, some really good technicians, two full time fabricators, a machinist, an engineer, and three people up front to help take phone calls, assist customers, and do sales. This is pretty much a dream shop and has all the recourses I wish I cold have had along the way at Performance Factory.

I am very happy to join the team here at Altered Atmosphere and this is going to be big. I assure you that you will see some of the nicest, well build, and strongest cars come out of this shop in the months to come. Stay tuned…

What a smart move by AAM. Win-win if done right for sure. You've got a great reputation JT. Honesty and integrity over time builds trust. Trust means so much in this small community. AAM has had troubles in the past based on numerous incidents reported on these forums. But perhaps now that you are on board, this will allow a rejuvenation of faith in this shop. This could be mutually beneficial if you are really given the authority to make sure the right thing is done by the customer. I hope it happens and I hope you've got (or soon get) a contract that states something along those lines in black and white. Good luck. I for one would want to see an organizational chart with your name somewhere near the top.

+1 good post, your coming in the door strong, bringing credibility to a shop with a shaky rep.whatever your circumstance, protect your good name.there is no value that can be put on it.

2nd.. if you really had researched AAM, you'd find that they have a horrid reputation, and the only reason they are tolerated on these boards if due to their heavy site sponsorship. (yes.. I'll risk being banned again by saying that.)

3rd.. I hope your reputation does not suffer, or become marred due to your association with AAM.

Take a look around that shop you are in.. notice that there arn't many local cars..

Again, best of luck!
