These shops seem to be in Michigan.

 

They are. I think one may be closed now but the other is still running. What's funny is I told the original owner about some of my other initial findings which were more trivial than this stuff and he defended the shop with pride.... If only he knew how bad they did him.

I just found out this morning that the Greddy Turbo Kit that was on the car was also damaged by the installer and while it's been running on the car for my drive home and a few weeks after till the tranny fired there was a ticking time bomb waiting to give me a loud suprise. One of the impellers was cracked and actually welded on the crack I don't even know how the fack it was running and not completely unbalanced but if this would of cracked when driving all kinds of shiate would of been sucked down into the engine destroying a $7K turbo kit and $10K motor.

I obviously canceled the sale and refunded the buyer. Now I will be having the turbos rebuilt now as I'm recommitted to owning a cool Z but this is terribly pi$$ing me and my wallet off. I just can't believe that a shop would do this and think they can get away with it. Same with SGP. I remember Mark telling me one time he didn't care what people on the forum said I'm on the Lambo forums too cause for a period I wanted to jump into that game and throw this mess away. After reading some PMs from members who worked with renowned shops like Heffner and having identical experiences I decided to stay where I can play and write it off a little easier. Also, when I owned my Viper, a company called Henessy was the shizznit. Now there are multiple owners (friends) having similar issues with them as we are with SGP and they're dumping 6 figures into that shop for work

 

I thought i read that this was a mid-a shop and i never heard of them....but sorry this happened to you esp the sgp crap.

I had a bad experience with a shop. My b/f and I did a greddy twin turbo install on my Z and I needed tuning obv. The few tuners around my area did not have good recommendations so I took it to one that WAS recommended off this forum. I don't really know why after dealing with them but anyways I tow the car down 3 hrs there on a u-haul trailer I get there and they say that my brand new UTEC is not working with the ECU for some reason. Well after all the hassle and wanting me Z done I agree to a tune that they are selling and they freeze my ECU so it has to be sent away so I have to leave the car there for a week b/c I work 3 hrs away and only have off on the weekend.

The ECU gets back and they freeze it AGAIN. I then cancel my plans to come down there and wait another week. The owner of the shop then tells me that he doesnt want to waste any more time w/ my ECU and will not try to flash it when it comes back this time and I should bring my UTEC back. I was like um you told me it didnt work. He then asks me if I know anything about modifying a car and that I need to get used to things like this happening. I may be a female but that doesnt mean I'm an idiot when it comes to cars. I preformed the install with the help of my b/f I know everything that went into that car!

So 3 weeks for a tune... At this point I am so frustrated/mad/disrespected I decide I don't want these people touching my car anymore and I call the only shop I know for 100% knows what they are doing. Forged Performance. Sandy is so sweet and arranges for my car to be picked up from that horrible place and shipped to Forged and I mailed them the UTEC. There was never anything wrong with it, it just didnt have a map on it (which is how they come when they are new). duh.

So after 4 weeks and lots of money later in the transport costs my car has finally been done right by Forged.

I didn't want to name any names until I figured out who was to blame. it was so confusing b/c there is a dyno tuner inside Japtrix down south but they are a seperate business and have moved out since this whole ordeal. The tuner took their dyno and everything and Japtrix has their own stuff now. The tuner is HP Logic. No clue where they are now.

 

Thank you for understanding that it was not us. as i said in the other thread, we have never touched your car. i felt and still feel really bad about what happened with you. if i had anything to do with it, things wouldn't have happened the way they did....

Again please give me a call so we can talk. i would like to be able to explain things better.

tunning factory has been closed for over a year . they have messed up more than one car let me start the list .

about 4 stis
handful of evos
bunch of dsm.
the list goes on and on.

 

I didnt know tuning factory was gone.... Had i known they were scammers and did shitty work i wouldnt have bought a utec from them... oh well..

 

And that's why this thread is going now. To make sure there are no longer list of 10+ cars. Everybody makes mistakes and stuff will always break but ***** work without concern for customer's should not be tolerated and those shops need to be called out and held accountable. As the economy toughens only those who actually take pride in their work should come out of this mess.

 

iamdigital, i wish i had known that you were buying that yellow Z , cause i'll put a stop sign right on your a$$ man . funny how the owner claimed 500+whp and got smoked a 300whp 240sx .
