Default Retune + Meth: Pics and video

Just got off the dyno with Jeremey Tibbs, Here are the results:

First run is without meth, Second is with Meth. Solid 15+hp&tq gains throughout the powerband. We had to stop there since my injectors were MAXED OUT but i think there more power in there.

Here is the overlay over my past tune with a different shop

As you can see I got some serious gains from the tune. 9psi 93 octane vs 10psi 93 octane(no meth). In some spots I pick up over 100tq with meth its even more

-This is not a call out thread, there are several tuners who I feel comfortable with but wanted to try something different. I am just posting my results good and bad. Please dont derail the thread

A week ago Frank, from Hills Garage installed the Aquamist HSF1 and did an outstanding job. I was under a tight timelime line and he did an awsome job. I really appreciate clean installs and he went over and beyond in the time given. He also cleaned up some of the wiring and made sure the Utec was hanging strait down(it was at a 20 degree angle prior). I was also pleasantly surprise when i saw the bill given he did other things like an oil change, spark plugs, etc and it was extremely reasonable

Here are a few shots of the install

Due to time constraints, size of the tank, and having the Bose amp in the floor the tank was just mounted to the floor

Nice power gains... Are you using boost juice or your own mix?

Using the meth...was there any change in amount of boost with the meth?
You stated 9 psi 93 octane and 10 psi 93 octane (no meth) also. What was the boost for the meth run?

did you try the new tune without methanol? Did JT think that there was no way you run as much timing as he put in without the meth kit? If that was the case, hope you dont run out

I'd bet there's lot of power still in there. No reason, other than stock block you couldnt be running close to 500 hp, on straight pump gas, no meth.

Is this a baseline pull before and after the new tune on the same dyno, or is it comparing the DD numbers to DJ numbers? Either way, congrats on the new power and meth kit. I saw your boost juice thread and may go in with you on future purchases if my car ever runs again.

cass- the overlay is of the baseline dyno run vs. retune. same dyno a few hours apart

str8dum1- there are two separate maps one for pump gas and one for meth. I have the utec with map selector. the dyno comparison is my old pump gas tune vs. new pump gas tune with 1psi more

Hey guys! Thanks for the nice words and congrats on the newfound power Andy. The meth tune is on the exact same PSI as the final without meth tune. We ran out of injector so that is all we could get out of either setup.

The dyno pull on the old setup was on the high boost setting on his boost controller on the first or second pull on the dyno. It was running high 8 to 1 AFR under full boost until the injectors got maxed out around 5000 rpms and 9psi, then the car slowly leaned out due to the 100% injector duty until it actually hit 10.9 to 1 up at the higher rpms. You can see what i mean if you look at the graph.

We made the same hp with higher tq with 2 psi less boost.

Overall, just want to make sure that Andy enjoys his car and it runs 10x better in every aspect.

^thanks jemery the tune is smoother esp during partial throttle. honestly i had to drive back in 495/95 traffic so i havnt had a chance to compare wot pulls but it did seem smoother. thanks again.

-I didnt say this in the first post since i thought it was assumed given the overlay but im very happy with the tune and would recommend jeremy to people looking for a tuner...

ya by leaning it out almost 3 full points would lead to some serious power, as is hown by your graphs. can't believe that someone actually "tuned" it like that.

JT, do you feel that he needed the meth to hit 421/428 #'s, as it wasnt possible to do on pump gas without knock?

I got no knock, had alot prior but the only reason we used the meth was a little extra safety and the injectors were maxed, i think with a proper frs(i got the bs aps one) and bigger injectors these numbers and bigger ones could be done. but JT would know better.

The meth would not be needed to reach those levels with bigger injectors. It was 100% needed to reach it with the injectors it has due to the fact that you can lean it out a bit on meth.
