Nope I never use any liquid/lube on the studs seeing that its the dry friction load that is measured. Changing the friction properties with any other substance will change the torque value easily 30-50%.

The rear studs didnt even click over at 70ft/lbs dry.

Hopefully the studs wont give you anymore problems.

 

Unlucky yes, but my luck alwasy has a purpose. It could have been way worse if those studs let loose on the highway or on a twisty back road.
