Default Just little update

Well the car has about 5K miles on it since the build and everything is great.

Had one issue with my harmonic balancer cracking, but SP replaced and all is good. Car still drives like stock, looks stock, and is nice and quiet during normal driving.

SP had their open house this weekend and we threw my car on the dyno for the crowd. I know I need to change plugs, and we really don't know exact boost without being plugged into the pro-efi (it was a dyno day so didn't want to spend time playing, just strap down and go).

So boost was somewhere in the 25psi range (was running 110leaded), car made 667rwhp. You could tell it was running rich from the black smoke out the exhaust lol.

Guess its not too bad for just throwing it down and flooring it lol. When we install the CAN gauge we'll get some good numbers again when we are monitoring everything.

I didn't get any vid, but I'm sure there's one out there and as soon as someone posts it I'll put it here.

Tom

Edit - Also I now have a sticky tire on the rear (thanks to Scottz300) so hope to have good track numbers soon too

NICE brother

Any word on ZdayZ yet? I would love to see your car in person.

Just wondering, what kind of dyno does SP have?

I'll know on ZdayZ by the end of this week.

SP has a Mustang dyno. It was reading a touch low sat but not too far off. Weather was crap (heavy raining). Always nice to see people's faces when the car spools up lol (I knew to plug my ears lol).

I'm glad I was outside the shop when your car was on the dyno cause I heard that thing from the outside and it was loud.

yea I'm trying

We could get more aggressive on the tune to make more power per psi, but really no need at this point. My biggest hinderance on power/psi, is stock cams.

In all reality though, even 550rwhp is more than enough for about 99% of stuff out there.

just remembered car was dyno'd in 4th gear instead of 5th. Anyone know if that would cause a difference in power reading since 5th is 1:1? Just curious

Mike used to like to dyno the cars in 4th gear as opposed to fifth because he didnt like to beat the cars up any more than necessary. That was until i showed him the huge difference that 5th gear pulls make on turbo cars. We were picking up 40-60 ft pounds of tq and a nice amount of hp on a 500+ car between the two gears.

Definitely want to do 5th gear for the final numbers on the VQ.

Yea, we may do a test....but if my numbers last time are any indiciation, then there is a 100+ HP difference from 4th to 5th on my car

well after some research being a gear off is huge. So my numbers would probably have been pretty close to what they were last year had we dyno'd in 5th....but oh well.

We've been tossing around the idea of going after the 906rwhp current stock sleeve number. But this sat I was only on 110 gas (gonna need at least C16 for my setup to go after that number), and I am still on stock cams. We are pretty sure it would get there but it may overstress some stuff going through the TQ peak so early and making the hp at that relatively low rpm.

We are thinking that the turbos could get us there if we turn them up on the same tune (same timing and A/F's), and we'd be pretty much at the limit of these turbos.

who knows we may still do it. Never had C16 in the tank yet......for now I'll be happy with my measly 769rwhp on 110 (and yes there is a certain amount of satisfaction saying that lol).

And I guess technically the brake hp (for 769rwhp) is 903hp......still decent.

Thanks,
Plus, I doubt this clutch would hold much more power even on the dyno.

now gotta get to the track on these DR's and make the car worthy of the numbers....

I want to see that dyno chart! How early does it peak? How's traction in 5th at 900 whp? :P Could you please bring bald tires to the airstrip event - lol.

We haven't gone there yet. lol.

Just put BFG DR's on (used but still sticky as hell) this weekend. Holds 700rwhp boost numbers in 3rd on a crap road (before, the second the boost came in the tires went up in smoke in 3rd). Hoping for a little better weather in the next day or 2 while I still have some 110 left in the tank to see what they hold.

The dyno sheet is on here somewhere (granted I have the 3.3diff now so power delivery is a touch different but not much).
Power peaks just like a stock car right at 6200rpm right now (just a touch higher power number ).....if we would have known it was going to make the power it does, we would have done cams at the build time.

Still not sure on event. I'll know at end of week.....damn family BS.
