P0011 IVT Control
So i have this code on my friends z and its for bank 1 IVT control (Intake valve timing Control).
This code came after we swapped out his aftermarket cams for stock ones. However, this car runs smooth as possible with perfect idle and no unordinary noises. According to the Service Manual, It can be Crank Pos. Sensor, Cam pos. sensor, engine coolant temp. But i think in the end, it all comes down to the intake valve timng control solenoid. I tried to OHM check the sensor in the back of the head but that did not go so well because i did not know what value to compare to and the numbers were all over the place. I did not check the CKP sensor because we never removed that in the first place for the cam swap. And i also checked the solenoid to see if theres dirt anywhere.
Can anyone help me here.

can also be a wiring harness issue.
jetpilot is having an issue with his bank 2 cam timing. he replaced the solenoid and the cam timing senor in the head. neither worked. car seems to run fine, too.

That is the death code. Check mechanical timing....sounds like the chain is off by a tooth. Also seen this when the key way eats itself and the lower sprocket moves out of it's correct position.
And yes, the engine can purr like a kitten, and show no other symptoms.

Is there a way i can check if the chain is off and an easier way of adjusting the chain without removing the whole cover. And im assuming this has to do with the bank 1 secondary chain? Otherwise it would affect all cams, correct?

Alright, just thought of something. In order to tell if the chain is off, can we take off both valve covers, position the crank and be able to the tell by the position of the cams. If its off, it shouldnt be too hard to tell, even if its a tooth.
