gives this forum bad rep.

why 75% of the people use it just to search the for sale threads and read, wise not to post...get ambushed by douches
and obviously i know something, since i can spell?

i had 2jz 240sx 480whp
396whp 300zx twin turbo
now twin turbo 350z(building motor 650+whp)
Nobody cares about what you're GOING to do...

I just want to start off by just saying "wow" I am a little amazed that within 5 min i could get a reply that completely answered my question and then come back a few hours later to this.... I did my research sticker says "you have 287hp" guy in other post says "my stock hp is 237 (i think)" and because I have never been to a dyno I look for a little clarification....thanks alot guys, you have just taught me all I need to know about this forum

P.S. I don't know if the term "real noob" was any indication, but I realize I don't know very much about this car other than I absolutely love it, and am very excited about tuning it....my bad for asking a question, I guess this space would have been better served by everyone getting together and saying "we know everything, no need to talk about it"

Dyno had nothing to do with it man...

example: A car from the factory may say 500hp on the sticker... but in real world its not going to be 500hp its going to be lower.... different dynos will read different but it will STILL be lower than 500hp the sticker says.. Dont go by the sticker. Take your car to a Dyno and there you go.. Also keep in mind no two cars are the same. 2 Z's exactly the same will have different numbers.. hope i clarified some things for you, and if im wrong please someone chime in but i think im 99.99% right...

OP you need alot of info to catch up with, read the stickys in this forum, ask people questions, go to a dyno and ask him whats the difrrent between hp and whp, and dont mod your car untill you have very very good information about what your about to do,

use google, and use howstuffworks.com, it will help you know everything about cars,

GL with ur Z ,

each dyno is different , u could hop on a dynojet and be 245whp and then get on a dynodynamics right after and be 220whp and so on with different dyno's...its different so saying 50hp is what it is or close is absolutely wrong and stupid...different dynos have different numbers u just have to know the drivetrain loss from each and figure it out for ur crank hp numbers u seek end of story, and numbers are just numbers..

now i get that there is a difference between crank and wheel hp, I was just pointing out that as a noob, I have not had alot of the experiences (tuning, dyno'ing, sitting around and b.s.'ing with friends) that I would expect most of the people on this forum to have done. I was t.o.'ed because people were saying things like "I can't believe you guys didn't *** rape him" and "na na na na boo boo, stick you head in doo doo" a couple of the answers were great, really broke down the answer so anyone could understand it, and for that I really am appreciative, but some of the stuff that was being said was pretty lame considering i head lined the post with "yes I am a noob, and I am expecting alot of people to know the answer to this but I don't"

Anyway I am of topic now and will stop, thanks to everyone one who gave an answer that was worth a $h1+, I hope you guys are still here when I make a decision about what to do with my car

i still dont think u understand...people are here to help, but when a question comes up that could easily be found by searching instead of starting another one of these newb threads people get in and give the new hell...its part of the learning process..start using that search button and trolling around reading and u will gain alot of knowledge..any question u have has prolly already been discussed

drivetrain loss is a myth, all dynos read crank horsepower. WHPR is also a myth. Thats why all dyno numbers come up the same no matter if it is a Dynojet, Engine dyno, Moontech dyno, RA 'dyno'

hope this helps.......or confuses

What you will see is heated and highly competitive dyno racing or

I have more horsepower than you do.

you bought a Z and didnt know the difference? i would do som research on here and some good reading...what ever factory hp numbers are, usually subtract around 50 hp to determine where your whp will be.

Tell that to a Porsche guy.

Are you even F/I yet? Not sure you can flame noobs in here till you are.

OP, all the noobs get flamed, its a right of passage and only the strong survive. Why is this thread even in F/I in the first place, did you **** off a Mod or Admin?

i thought you guys would gang rape this dude.lol
It may have been headed that way, but the OP had a positive attitude and we were all distracted by this nugget of FAIL:

Not entirely incorrect in this case, but just not as correct as Alberto's explanation. Considering the OP's original question, he may have gone around repeating god350z's answer and just assumed -50hp for every car.

The social hierarchy in the F/I section is very complex .

I posted here because like a total...um..well noob, I posted in the wrong forum (just a little fuel for your collective fires.

I like how someone trying to flame me, said something you all seem to think is stupid and total distracted you guys....."Oh my god I can't believe this *** hat he doesn't even know what WHp, and...wait look over there...another one, GET HIM"
