With the 3.12 RevUp, you can use the 93.5" or 93" belt. I have the Goodyear Gatorback 93.5" on currently. With the 2.87 pulley, I would think 93" or less....

well the 93" they are talking about is for the old style belt routing.

do you have the new or the old belt routing? The new belt routing has 2 idler pullies on the vortech mounting plate. The old routing has 3 idler pullies mounted to the plate.

If you have the old design I have a stock gaterback belt that my vortech came with but then i switched to a different belt routing and had to go to an 80 1/8" belt.

It has probably 200 miles on the belt. PM me if that is the belt routing you have cause i need to get rid of this belt from my garage.

that's the stock routing that uses a 93" belt.

this is the stock setup you have there in that picture you uploaded.

this is the new routing for non-rev up motors. It will work with the plate you have now you just have to move some pulley's around. It will require and 80 1/8" belt. It helps belt slip.

Don't worry about belt slip if you have the gtm pulley mod with the stock belt layout. GTM pulley will pretty much eliminate any slip. You're good to go.

Tyler,

I'm using my phone, so can not bring a photo uphere. But do you remember the photo I took it for you from other my thread? Check that out, if you install them just little bit lower than mine, I think you can avoid the rubbing hood. Or you can try install it at under, hard to explain without photo, but you know how some people installed two GTM pulley? One install at where I installed or op, and other pulley goes bottom of that pulley. You can try just install at where second pulley goes.

If you confuse let me know, I can post pic for you tonite.

First, you have to contact with GTM, tell them you are going to run newer setup with 2.87 pulley. So they can send you right belt. GTM sent me a older setup belt when I ordered. I forgot to tell them, its for newer setup.

Newer setup, some people running 80 1/8 or 79.xx with GTM pulley or some could use same belt after installed GTM pulley.

Pictures, I posted on my other thread. If I can get to computer I can post it for you. But its faster if you go look. Think was in when chris tuned thread. Also if you look sentry's vortech thread that has some layout, that will help you where to install pulley and set belt.

I do remember there is DIY thread on g35driver...I do remember saw them, but not sure was on G forum.

on my g35 i have problems with the belt touching the timing cover in the front. I grinded it down as much as i thought i could and be safe. It has space when the motor is off, but i can see some black residue where the belt has hit the front of the cover while i'm driving it. I would assume from the belt flexing some and moving a little bit.

Mine as well. Glad that we used cheap belt at first, it grinded enough cover now it has enough room. Just a first belt grinded it and no problem.
