If it scares the crap out of you, then get a built motor. I wouldn't suggest throwing FI on a stock motor with 110K miles anyway.

+1, i would think about build motor at that milies. But if you want do turbo, compression test is good option as well.

At the least get a compression check and depending on those results, a leakdown test. However, if you have any kind of weakness in any of your cylinders, you can assume FI will speed up that failure and it will blow at some opint.

LOL! If you're asking how much a compression test is, you're NOT ready for forced induction....

Indeed. A lot of people would say it's the perfect time for boost, and if it blows = BUILT.

100k miles is nor an issue, as long as the engine is sound and well maintained. We've done FI on stock blocks at or near 100K...none have failed.

yes it is very well maintained all oil changes on time. not too hard driven. i am in the air force and live just under 200 miles from home. my first 2 years of having this car that trip was made almost every weekend. so majority of this was highway miles. the car runs great right now ive never had any issues with it. i appreciate the info from you guys. alot of you sure do express your opinion straight up. but it is appreciated. and the search button will be deffinitly used from now on thanks

I think you will be just fine. Give it a good compression, and leakdown test to confirm. But if the engine is strong, and not consuming much oil, you should be fine. The VQ35 is engineered to run for 200K miles.

This is an example of an engine at 118k miles.. car was maintained throughout out the years I had position of it.

2003 G35 VQ35 DE.. going FI with proper internals.

good luck with your build...

Noted....
bad motor mount.

water pump going, going... "gone"

low press oil issues...

broke seals..

Cams look rough..

Bottom line.. make sure u know what you are gettin yourself into.. If i boosted on my stock block.. Car prob would last very long... hope this helps.
