For those who own or who have heard the SI trim blower for the Vortech...
Is it me, or does the SI trim sound quite different from the standard SC Trim...not just louder, but has a somewhat higher pitch to it...

Well, there's no way I'm keeping that blower in there while it's making that noise...I put back my old, trusty, but leaky SC Trim, and the nice trash rattle of the Vortech came back...I'm probably sending the SI Trim to Vortech for repairs...
That being said, during the brief time that the SI Trim was in my car, it was a beast (noise notwithstanding)...the boost comes up sooner and you can definitely feel the extra power....i was scared to go full on WOT since I'm tuned for the SC Trim...can't wait to get the SI back...
BTW, has anyone ever done a comparison between the performance of the SI Trim and the 928 impeller?

I had that si blower less then 3k-4k miles if i remember correctly. NOTHING is wrong with it. Why are you sending it in ?%^& then let me know man.
PS. I will gladly refund your money and pay for shipping back.

no. you should buy the 928 and do it! Nows the perfect time. Sell your Si impeller after the rebuild and buy the 928 and get r' done!
but you do realize that the SC and SI is the exact asme body, gears, bearing etc. Its just the impeller thats different. They should sound exactly the same.

hmm..let me rephrase the question...would a sc trim with a 928 be comparable to a si trim blower in performance?

i will vouch for this! car never revved over 6300 with the 2.87 pulley and stock cog on the jackshaft!
i STILL stand by my word. If you think something is wrong with it then ship it back. After being screwed by SGP, i will not be responsible for someone else's misfurtion (sp). Let me know bud.
