Hey guys, well I've replaced my output shaft seal (seal on the back of the tranny that the driveshaft goes into) 2 times in the past 5k miles due to SLIGHT residual leaking. Anyone else seeing this problem?
Im beginning to think that my Clutchmasters FX400 being so harsh (sounds like a cement truck in 1st gear at low speeds) could be causing the problem....not sure what else it could be.
Thanks for any input.

the one between the upper oil pan and the block? If that one, then yes many people have had that leak and its hard to get it just right. I had to do mine 2times to get it not to leak after my upper oil pan install.
the noise is from the undamped flywheel and should not have anything to do with the seal leaking.

I know this thread is 5 months old, but I am experiencing the same problem. I have a 2004 350z with the CD008 tranny with 29,000 miles on it. While cleaning up the underside of my Z I spotted the same slight residue coming from the output shaft on the back of the tranny. Its hard so see in the pic because I wiped it off a little bit, but the area circled in red is where I see fluid. Just wondering where everyone else got there new seals from and what is involved in replacing it.
Thanks in advance...

Nissan, and you ideally should use a seal installer, which is the same diameter as the seal, and you tap it in with a mallet. You could tap it in with something else like a dowel or something if you don't damage it when tapping it in, and tap it in evenly.
