Default Possible blown turbo?

I went for a 1-3rd gear WOT run, to get it on video, and as i reached about 5800rpm or so in 3rd gear (probably where the turbo is spinning at its fastest at my set boost level), I suddenly heard a change in tone, it got deeper and also noticed a drop in power, i let off right away, you see this at (:18) in the vid.

I then just cruised and got into a little boost again to see what it did, listen at (1:07), this is where you hear the noise very clearly. WTF IS IT!

Video of the run:

Video of shaft play

I did a 2nd video showing the shaft play it has, what conclusion can be drawn from this?

The turbo is a hx35 Holset.

I can't watch the first vid cuz im at work but judging from second vid, That play doesnt seem too bad at all. I would instead check the pipes and check for cracks or leaks.

Honestly it sounds like the shaft play has gotten so bad that the turbine rubbed against the housing at 1:07. When you were showing the shaft play (it looks pretty bad btw), you can see scuff marks where the impeller is scraping the side. Probably best to get new bearings before metal dust or a chunk of blade goes through the engine.

Way too much play..not just end play but overall play. Above poster is
right...damage will result if not rebuilt as I see it.

Thanx for the reply guys, I inspected my charge pipe and exhaust piping, and they were completely dry, so no leaking is going on. I also did notice the scuff marks on the housing but when u pass ur finger over it, you dont feel anything, feels smooth so I dont think there was touching there.

My theory on whats going on is: I am supplying to little oil to the turbo, i have a .052" restrictor on the inlet and that might be too damn small, so at higher boost and gear where the turbo its spinning its fastest and needed the most oil, its running dry and probably metals are expanding(bearing) and having some metal/metal contact. I fixed a boost leak i had today thinking it was it, and it did it again, it has the same sound as when a train is stopping (that friction against railroad.)

06Track, the play is not as bad as it looked on there, I checked it again when the turbo was cold( since i was holding a paper towel before coulndt get good grip), but it has 0 end play, only has that slight side to side play but dosnt touch the housing. Either way, I will be getting a 2nd turbo that I know is in good shape, while i take this one apart and really see whats going on internally.
