nice

were you really having THAT much slip to need 2 small pulleys? I just used 1 on top and i boost up to 12psi with no slip (at least none shown on my boost logs)

yeah, i had your setup before, and had slip on 4800 rpm ~ 6000 rpm, had belt slip, and the air in was not stable, that's why i'm trying this setup

so you had the revised non-rev setup along with the top GTM pulley and still belt slip? I'd get rid of that gatorback belt and get a Gates belt then.

With the revised non-rev up i was only slipping at 6300 rpm to redline so honestly i was only getting a tiny amount of slip. I added the gtm pulley on top and it fixed that small amount of slip. I doubt i'll need a second one until i get a t-trim and boosting to 16-18psi.....but at that stage i'd probably just put twin turbo on it instead.

yeah, i had belt slip issues @ high rev rpm, and i might make an upgrade @ superchargerrebuilt to E-trim, and some forged internals, and hope to make something like 16 ~ 17 psi, so i think this setup won't slip for my future mods.
hope tomorrow get some 13psi with this setup.

sweet. what pulley are you running?

With my 2.87 i'm pulling up to 12psi on stock revlimiter. It dies at 6600. I'm sure i could get 13psi if i upped the rev limiter to 7100 but i think it would overspin the bearings. They make an even smaller pulley: 2.6 something. I would recommend going with a larger jackshaft cog pulley for more speed with your same belt setup but only if you upgrade the bearings and motor.

What is E-trim? I've never heard of that.

i was running just with a GTM pulley on the top, and as i said i have 2.87 pulley w/ jackshaft 34 tooth /28 tooth, and i had 12 psi @ 6500 rpm, but had belt slip problem.

the E-trim can run up to 62K rpm http://www.superchargerrebuild.com/?page_id=6

they charge 750usd for an upgrade.

you are confused. The E-trim is just a slightly larger compresor housing with a 3.6" outlet (a grinding stone and a dremel could accomplish the same on a normal S trim V-2). Otherwise exact same internals, impeller as the SQ unit. They are both V-2 models.

it cannot run 62,000 rpms. and if you think you have belt slip problems now, try to turn the blower at 62k. 6 rib setups are not made for high boost/hp applications.

Those supercharger rebuild kits offer bearings for any mondel that outspin the cast impellers. I'd make sure they warranty everything against impeller destruction before I'd go with those bearings.

ah, i see. You're already running the high cog belt pulley setup also.

That would be why you were still getting slip.

Str8dum1 is right, you need a stronger impeller. I would look into the 928 billet impeller. Much stronger and improved airflow too.

Someone (i think named quamen or something) is selling an 8 rib crank pulley. You might want to look into that also. He's selling it cheap and it would help with belt slip big time.

yeah like they said ^.... I have 70K bearings on my vortech that I recently rebuild but Iam still on stock impeller so iam not taking full advantage or at all for that matter, because the stock impeller doesnt spin no where near 70K.

PM me if you guys want the number to where I got my bearings. There an Italian brand and they spin to 70K+

the 2 small output shaft bearings were 80$ each. they are rated at 70k+... the input bearings ( the bigger ones ) they were a little cheaper I forget the price.

In my opinion the best bearings ive ever used and best bang for the buck. Definitely worth it
