you guys do realize that centrifugal superchargers are just like turbos. They have efficiency islands and boost maps. Just because you can spin the small compressor S trims up to 70 doesnt mean you will get anything besides hot air.

Thats part of the reason vortech doesnt spec higher rpm bearing and HD gears in that trim. They arent designed to flow at higher speeds.

What's holding centrifugal charger guys back from big power is the small compressor. Goin to an 8 rib setup and a YSI trim is a much better use of your money over bearings and impellers that are shoved in the small S trim housing.

or turbo

which is why i have to decide to switch over. if not, i'll rebuild with the high rev bearings just for piece of mind, but i doubt i'll try to rev it any higher.

eh, once i get that far then i would have dropped a ton more money and there wouldn't be a route to go further. If i just cut my losses and switch to a turbo now then i'll have the ability to upgrade a lot more later.

I haven't decided....LS2 sounds nice too....hahah

ok, back on topic

I started getting board with SC. Whenever i get settle with my new business, i probably sell it. I was thinking about VK56 swap...But i don't think swap will work out...But we'll see. It will be fun if we look at this thread year later.

I wish the YSI trim fits our car without modifications.

it does

but ideally you'd want to redo the charge pipes, run 8 rib crank/PS/alt pulleys as well.

but it bolts right up and u can use silicon couplers and the stock pulleys

interesting....now to find one that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. 3k for a blower is quite a bit.

when I ask votech they said it wont fit.

Hey Str8dum1, is the stock jackshaft cog pulley 32T and the supercharger cog 30T or 28T?

I have been running the Timrod belt setup on my car for a few years now, it works great.

hmm, wont fit what? It bolts to the plate. From there you'd be on your own

nonrev is 32/28
rev is 34/30

I had plans of doing the bearing upgrade along with the 928 Motorsports Impeller, 2.63 pulley, rev-up cog, and a 928 Motorsports Wastegate set at 11psi. My engine wouldn't see anything higher than 11 but it would come in sooner and give my car some midrange. I know what ya mean Chef when you say our Vortech's are boring. I hate to switch over to turbo at this point but I need some torque! Do you guys think that I would just blow hotter air and not realize much of a gain? I know there are a couple of guys on here with a similiar setup with that 928 Motorsports wastegate, do any of you have any dyno charts?

wow 2.63 pulley? that would be around 13 ~ 14psi, today i just finished the new setup, and right now i have 12psi @ 6500rpm w/o any belt slip, i'll post the video in a while, and i did some mod on the GTM pulley (top one) due to was running the belt out, so i'll post my new setup

Not if you bleed off everything higher than 11psi with a wastegate. I have no problem with my peak power, it's just the lack of midrange that makes it boring. Here is a dyno of mine. It's so linear....Oh why didn't I just get a turbo
