Default Headgasket or turbo seal?

I noticed this weekend when I acc. and spool the turbos up thick white smoke comes out, and when I stop at a red light it stinks really bad and smells like oil is burning. Its not burning any radiator fluid. It has just been getting pretty cool here and im runing mobil 1 15-50w and I was told this oil might be to thick. Im going to do a compression test sometime this week and go from there. Im hoping its just the turbo seal. What are you guys opinions?

If you have oil in your coolant then you have headgasket issues

If not then sounds like turbo seal issues

Did you over fill your oil level? 15-50 is definetly too thick, but if that is passing through your turbo seals, then a lighter weight oil will be even worse.

Most likey your turbo seals are bad or they turbo oil return is backing up, hard to diagnose without more data.

I say most likely the oil is just backing up. Sunday I had kinda the same issue. I noticed the car was smoking a lil bit and that I would get a strong oil burning smell. It did it at random time through out the day. Remember it got pretty chilly while we were in dallas. I'm using 0W-40 oil right now. I need to do an oil change anyway so I'm gonna switch.

+1 on George

If you overfill it will do exactly as you described.

Have a catch can? If so, check the line for being pinched.

I think its just overfilled, but I am going to go check all the lines also. I guess 15w-50 is just to thick for colder temps so what should I go down to?

Ehhh kinda hard since you know how Louisiana weather can be. I would go to 0W-40.

Shreveport LA, does the samething. It can be mid 80s during the day low 40s at night. Or it can drop for 75 to 35 in a hour. And I haven't even started talking about all the other crazy things it can do around here.
