the bypass will only start to close at close to 0inHg
You are getting 20 inch swings?

Or does the car not have a vac/boost gauge? Have you tried to put a guage on one of the other vaccum ports on the plenum? There are 3.

I do not have a vaccum/boost gauge. And no I have not tried moving the BPV vaccum line to another port, do you think thats worth a shot? First I am going to blow throw it to see if I am getting any resistence (something clogging the line).

Thank you Jared for chiming in on here!

Tomorrow I will pull of the cog belt and make sure that all is well with it off, check the line from the plenum to my BPV to check for a clear passage, and may move it to another nipple on the plenum...

Anything else??

I'll report back when I've got the results.

Idle is stable without cog belt. A/F's do not leap all over the place.

It is easy to blow through the plenum nipple that the BPV vaccum line is attached to...no resistance.

More advice?

that's wild, so the idle problem stopped when the compressor was removed from the equation. do the a/f values stay constant now?

Sounds to me like the bypass valve isn't working right.

Much more constant than they were. They range from 14.5-15.1 at idle with the cog belt off....pretty consistent if you ask me.

Please explain why you think this...

I've had the boost problems with both my old Vortech BPV and my current HKS BPV...same problem. I've check the nipple to make sure the line isn't clogged coming from the plenum...what else could possibly be wrong?

ya, mine stays around there for a while then every 5-10 seconds it will either blip down to the 13's or up to the high 15's and even 16's. My engine isn't idling rough or anything and my WOT afr is dead on.

I'm thinking mine might be a bad MAF sensor or bad O2 sensors (since the o2 sensors i think control how the car manages closed loop right?)

hmm....similar problem except i do'nt have the boost issues and do'nt have funny idle issues, just funny wideband numbers bouncing around.

Jared is one of top notch tuner. Since he is already on this game, my advice will be pointless. Once you figure out boost issue, jared will put perfect tune for ya.

No, I just described the "surging" effect at idle and the lack of boost, and he said that if I had made sure there was not a boost leak then impeller damage is his next guess. I took of the air filter and couldn't see anything on the impeller that looked weird...but that doesn't really say a whole lot...

Agreed on Jared being a good guy, and a great tuner...we've been working on fixing my car off-and-on for about 4 months now.

You might want to PM quamen about your questions before you decide to send out blower to vortech. This guy knows about blower impeller/pulley size etc etc.

it's a pain in the ***, but if you pull the compressor out you can look at the impellar to check for damage. It should be under warranty, right?

If I end up pulling it...which it seems like thats what is going to happen...I'm going to send it to 928 Motorsports to get rebuilt and the impeller shaved/resurfaced, not Vortech.

Chef-J I don't really know any other questions, solutions to ask anyone, I wish I did.

Oh, it was just my thoughts. There are few guys on this forum knows really well about Supercharger, I will say they will know much as vortech guys or maybe more... quamen is one of guy imo, ( Also, str8dum1 that who is on this thread). I kinda understanding why vortech saying it is blower, but my opinion is just guess....which not help you at all. Also it isn't cheap to send blower to fix and wait for it. I rather make sure if it is blower before make a move...Just my two cents tho.

Never heard anything bad about their work...and love their quailty customer service, unlike Vortech!

I suppose I will be the first to 928.
