Default Balancing BUILT short block

As always... I SEARCHED. lol but here is my question. im building my shortblock for my 500whp build. but heres the block, i got my block measured for my proper clearances but.... my machinist tells me i need my harmonic balancer and flywheel to balance my motor. Futhermore he ask if im doing a internal or external balance. LAstly he needs to know the balancing percentage of my motor.

Is all of this needed to balance my motor or is it ALOT SIMPLER than that. (i.e. is all my machinist needing to do is weight-match the pistons/rods/crankshaft??? or more than that) thanks in advance

give him the flywheel and Crank pulley so that he can verify the balance. the motor will be internally balanced, but the flywheel and pulley must be in balance too.

it wont do you any go to balance the motor if other parts are out of balance.

Are you questioning your machinist? and yet you want him to build it. Give the man what he needs and just stand back for the magic.

I'm glad someone else said it

This is what the person you're paying does for a living (presumably)
