Guy @ gas station claims to have 700whp S/C G35 LMAO
it's not impossible for a Supra to lose, I'm just saying the odds are heavily against any VQ with equal and even more power sometimes if it's a fair race.
The Supra is simply a faster car in a straight line than the 350z or G35c at any power level if the playing field is leveled...
the VQ just doesn't respond to FI the way a Supra does, that legendary bulletproof Inline 6 of the Supra is legendary for a reason, that's all I was trying to point out... the facts, I wasn't trying to start an flame war between which car is better, I'm not "that" type of forum user
and yes heavily and even lightly modded Supras have issues with traction on street tires, I know my old 95 500whp TT Supra was a handful to drive on stock wheels and "performance" tires

A cashier at a convenience store saw my car out front and asked me how much horsepower I had. I told him around 300 give or take and that's when he proceeded to tell me his old Honda "four-banger" had close to 200 and because it was lighter that it was probably faster. I left him my change on the counter and walked out.
I am not trying to start a fight either Adon. Even power to even power my $$$ is on the G/Z just from the 3-4 big power supras i see locally at the track. They all had way more power than my old set up and only one put down better times at the track he was 0.2sec faster than me the other two were 600+whp and in the 13s at the track
thats my experience.
Our area seems bad for that stuff no dyno runs ever just add the manufactures power claims like the 400whp stillen 350Z in Edmonton and one in RedDeer the guy in RedDeer refused a free dyno run after braging about how much power he was making.
There was a car in RedDeer that was built by VRT he claimed 700whp I went for a ride with him and I am sure i would have taken him in a race but it started raining and I never seen him on the streets again
I later heard the car dynoed at 440whp
. Or the other Greddy TT car tuned in RedDeer it made 575whp and ran 12.6sec@116mph
. I won't talk cars with 90% of the people i meet everyone seems to have rediculous claims that they can't or won't back up. I rarely tell people how much power my car makes because as soon as you do they know someone with a 600hp Honda or a diesel truck that makes 1000whp
+1 i got elimimnated on at a race day a few years ago I think he won our class.
thats my experience. That is good stuff.
I had a guy at a local meet estimating that he was making 350whp with cams, exhaust, and intake. So I ask for dyno...no...don't have it, never really dynoed the car. Then I ask him to go for a quick run on the highway, and I told him that I only had 320whp (only 4psi of boost at the time). He didn't want to do that either.
I told him that he will beat me too....apparently he was braking in the cams..that was a good laugh.

I agree, especially after having been beat-down by an OLD Sentra ( which I later found out had and SR swap ), but this kid obviously had no knowledge of performance vehicles whatsoever. He even asked me how fast it was. WTF, seriously, how do you answer that question? In NA form, it'll carve corners with the best of 'em, but it ain't settin' no speed records at the drag strip!
Trust me he knows cars as this was done by a NGC member on g35driver.He has a JWT 700 twins setup pushing more then 5oorwhp and he still wont tell us where the gas station is.He knows a few of us are going to go there.

thats my experience.no fight here, just discussion we're Canadian eh, the worst we can do is throw snowballs at each other, snowball fight it out
well your personal experience doesn't surprise me, from rolling with the Supra crews back when I had one, and being on the Supra forums, I can tell you that there was a lot of dickweeds on there who knew that it was easy to get a lot of reliable power from the JZ and that's all they focused on, neglecting other important factors like traction, etc...
but looking at your G35 build I don't think anybody can come to any other conclusion but that you know exactly what you're doing and you're a hardcore car enthusiast. So I mean personal experiences aside I'm sure you already know that modified Supras are among the fastest street cars in the world, that's all I was trying to get at with my original post I guess.
The automotive world has seen an endless stream of street driven Supras hitting well below 10 second 1/4 mile runs, and that's just daily or weekend drivers, not even the dedicated drag Supras.
But to this day (I can't speak for 350z's) but I have never seen a G35c go below 11 seconds, actually the 906whp Intense Power G only does a flat 11, and that's in full drag tire setup... and though I haven't seen any other street non drag/race built VQ's that are bordering or surpassing the 1000whp mark, (I'm sure there are some out there) we haven't seen any of them making any serious runs.

I dont know who's worse.. You or the guy with the chinese engine. Guy... Though a Supra is an amazing vehicle.. it weighs more. You don't have to be a genius to know that a lighter car with the same power would beat a heavier car with the same power. The gearing is similar in both cars.. both have 6-speeds... I've been around Supra's my whole life and I'm very familiar with them being a Toyota/Lexus master certified parts counterman. So please.. don't be the "Chinese Engine Guy". Please insert foot in mouth.

i agree.........i love the supra's they are one of my favoritec street cars. However, the supra's are built like a tank. There is so much hype around supra's it ridiculous. i understand that the 2jz is an awesome engine but the size turbo's they are putting on them to make these big hp #'s are crazy big and put out one ugly ugly power curve. They don't even start making power until like 7000rpm and most of them redline at 8500rpm. A friend of mine use to own a shop here in town and a supra came to get tuned and the thing put down 1200whp. However, at 6000rpm it only made 350whp then at 7000rpm it shot straight up to 1200whp right when it hit redline at 8500rpm. The car put down impressive #'s but it was usable power on the street. So, i would take a 600whp Z over a 1000whp supra on the street any day of the week because while that supra is waiting for that turbo to spool the Z will be eating it's A$$ up and once it does spool the supra breaks traction and then shifts and starts the whole process over
plus, you are comparing a platform that has been out only 7yrs verse one that has been out for 17yrs. So, just because you don't see alot of 1000whp plus Z's out there yet doesn't mean it won't be common place in 10yrs
426whp... on a Single OverHead Cam D16Z6
Its completely built and whats funny.. the front bumper has a huge hole on the driver side where the exhaust exits and the Aeromotive fuel pump and fuel cell in the hatch.
For the cost of my turbo kit/install alone, I could have bought and boosted a civic to the same power level as I have now...maybe slightly more. I was DEAD even from 70-140 at 9 psi vs my buddy's LS-turbo at 16psi. Difference was, mine did not blow coolant everywhere after the race was done and shoot a PCV cap clear across I-95
After owning a 99 DX civic, I could never feel safe going that fast in that kind of car

Lol.... Funny video...
I refuse to tell anyone on the street who asks how much whp I have... They never believe me anyway.... There is some fool on Cardomain that posted on my page that the dyno I posted is not real....
If they ask me on the street......I tell them I have not dyno'ed it as yet
