It needs to be said that I am crushed that the clerk in the first vid is from the Mid-A. He clearly references Anne Arundel and College Park. Keith, start stopping at every gas station in your area, he seems close to you. Maybe fate will smile upon him and he will cross paths will Alberto.

But to this day (I can't speak for 350z's) but I have never seen a G35c go below 11 seconds, actually the 906whp Intense Power G only does a flat 11, and that's in full drag tire setup... and though I haven't seen any other street non drag/race built VQ's that are bordering or surpassing the 1000whp mark, (I'm sure there are some out there) we haven't seen any of them making any serious runs.

well your personal experience doesn't surprise me, from rolling with the Supra crews back when I had one, and being on the Supra forums, I can tell you that there was a lot of dickweeds on there who knew that it was easy to get a lot of reliable power from the JZ and that's all they focused on, neglecting other important factors like traction, etc...
but looking at your G35 build I don't think anybody can come to any other conclusion but that you know exactly what you're doing and you're a hardcore car enthusiast. So I mean personal experiences aside I'm sure you already know that modified Supras are among the fastest street cars in the world, that's all I was trying to get at with my original post I guess.
The automotive world has seen an endless stream of street driven Supras hitting well below 10 second 1/4 mile runs, and that's just daily or weekend drivers, not even the dedicated drag Supras.
But to this day (I can't speak for 350z's) but I have never seen a G35c go below 11 seconds, actually the 906whp Intense Power G only does a flat 11, and that's in full drag tire setup... and though I haven't seen any other street non drag/race built VQ's that are bordering or surpassing the 1000whp mark, (I'm sure there are some out there) we haven't seen any of them making any serious runs.

I think Supras block are pretty strong to hold the amount of RWHP they do, the amount of space in the engine bay to fit a huge turbo, and the fact that the engine is well mated for a big single but I do think G/Zs built to a similar level would be even matched (i.e. built block). There is a local Supra that was built by Sound Performance that ended up putting down 835 RWHP at 35lb of boost (3.2L stroker):

Ended up running consistient 9.8 second runs in the 1/4 at Winnipeg altitude (i.e. flat, lol) levels.
Thom00001 isn't too far away from that RWHP with his car and he doesn't have a built longblock, stroked, or that amount of boost.
I agree with you on the part of more of the higher powered G/Zs needing to make a few trips to the drag strip, but I guess that is not something most people on here build their car for.

yea I'm not too concerned with 1/4mile....but that seems to be the benchmark.
I'm willing to put my car on highboost against just about any 9 sec car in the country on the highway (thats what my car was built for.....more 60-130style)
And I can tell you from personal experience......a 750rwhp G35c destroys a 750rwhp Supra......VQ motor does a lot more sooner (TQ)....only time it changes is when speeds get really high due too gearing (but Im still on stock cams afterall right str8!!!!) yea so I don't even rev beyond 7K rpm well, until this year!!!!

700whp and 700bhp are very different. Vid claims 700whp. Don't know if any SC VQ's have even broke 550rwhp....
Now I suppose a basically maxed out T-trim and a shot of nitrous will get you to 700whp.
Considering like under 10 street cars have broken 700rwhp on a VQ, and only 2 of them are even in the same city.....not likely you'll just happen to run into one of the street.

a built G35 with a YSI blower could make 700whp on a DD. PharmD was makin almost 600 on a dynojet with his T-trim.
That guy in the middle east has a TH400 tranny. huge difference than a 6 speed in strip times.

not saying my car would run the same numbers.... I said with a driver like Alberto and the power it has... It would easily run 10's. If I remember correctly ... The guy with my old 850bb setup from VTR ran high 10's...I have also seen G/z with 200whp less power run low 11's.....

I don't know maybe I'm missing some sort of point here, I'm not trying to come off like a smartass and prove everyone here wrong, our VQ's certainly are capable of high HP I never said we aren't, I just tried to get across that Supras are on a different level when it comes to easy HP and fast drag times.
Last time I checked the world is filled with 1000whp+ Supras that eat up the 1/4 mile doing it easily in a sub 10 second time, usually low 9's and some even 8's.... In their community if you ain't pushin past 1000rwhp you're a chump, and here on our boards you're hittin 500 you're a fckin champ.

when I see a handful of G35's or a 350's do this, then I will make sure to insert foot in mouth, because there's Supras all over the world hitting similar results every weekend
