So, this is what it looks like now. Don't mind the crappy looking welds on the wastegate, I was a bit low on argon.
I will let you guys know how this setup works.

So, you would agree that wastegate recirc angle
is important, eh?

Just a little, and now you have a full instruction manual on how to make a kit for the HR.

Haha, if only it were that easy...
The HR is a completely different animal I'm afraid. None of the single turbo kits designed for a DE will even come close to fitting an HR.

Just a quck pull out on the highway. Traction was a bit of a problems as the temperatures here are still low, and the PS2's are just not made for it.

Yes, it goes up very fast. My wife got a bit excided there.
I will get back on the dyno ASAP, and only with the wastegate spring. It is holding boost just fine all the way to red line.

Glad to see the problem was fixed promptly and pre-production! Seemed to be a fairly inexpensive fix in the end.

It turns out that the rear muffler was the root of all these problems.
Even with the wastegate merging parallel the boost continued to drop. I then removed the rear muffler, and the boost problem was gone.
This leads me to believe that the first setup with the w/g going in perpendicular was not an issue either.
The important thing is that the kit is performing great, and I have done a ton of WOT runs on the highway without any issues.
Either way, I am now ready to sell..

wait, so open dumps = no boost problems, back to recirc = boost problems, remove muffler = no boost problems?
weird

Yup.
So the kit never really had a problem to begin with. The problem was the rear muffler.
BTW, dyno tomorrow afternoon.

What muffler you running again? Is it just not large enough inlet/outlets to handle the added flow now?

so with the muffler on and open dumps its was fine? crazy that just that additional flow would cause soo much backpressure. but I guess you are probably dumping 3/4 of the turbo's flow out the wastegate

Yea thats what i'm sayin.
I have open dumps and a "modified" stock muffler (larger inlet with I think 1 bounch panel gone).....I must be diverting a **** ton of exhaust around the turbo and out the open dumps of the WG's lol.

It was a cheap OEM style muffler with 3" inlet and 2 2.5" outlets. The thing is, I don't know how the baffles are set up inside the muffler. Must be very restricting.

That is why i have been saying all along that there is no need for a 44mm w/g. If you do the math the 38mm wastegate is 1.5" in diameter. When open, it can dump up to 60% of the total exhaust flow outside. (1.5/2.5)*100= 60%
