Don't see it being a huge problem though it may run slightly warmer. Please tell me you have the satin finish as it would be a shame to powder coat the polished version.

Why run the risk of running warmer just for the bling factor even if its only a degree or 2 its not worth it

There are performance coatings available for things like that. A company called Endyne use to port and coat Jackson Racing SCs for the Honda community I'd start there, or I'd be willing to bet something like the coating I have on my Intercooler would help the same on a SC it's a ceramic compound that assists in heat transfer.

Powder coating is typically done at 400F FYI. I would be inclined to say that powdercoating the case without disassembling it would be a bad idea. You can do the volute without issue though by simply removing it.

Default great advice

I was thinking same thing. I feel that you all have confirmed my theories. My s/c blew a few years ago and every time Vortech fixed it , it blew again. Finally they sent me a new one. That was a hassle and don't want any problems. I feel that baking the coating on may compromise the seals and lead to failure. I figured that someone on this site must have had it done. And No the s/c is satin, I should have spent the little extra to get chrome finish.
