Default How reliable is vortech supercharger belt?

Ive been looking into getting a supercharger for my Z but theres one problem stopping me, is about the belt slipping because my cousin have a rsx supercharger and sometime his belt slip. Someone at told me that the vortech supercharger belt slips a lot so I was just wondering if its true? Ive been searching it but havent come up with a conclusion so I want to hear some opinion from you guys. Thanks please let me know

During the summer its my daily driver..I drive it everyday to and from work and all over, and track it once in a while too..I see 10psi with my setup and no slip ever to date...U really have nothing to worry about...vortech has a new belt layout that is much better than the older style...

what pulley do u plan to run? because u do not need it for the stock 3.33 pulley for sure or the 3.12 pulley and really not even for the 2.87 just the proper belt and tension...are u stock block or what?

I still say u wont need it with the correct belt on, but at least u are saying u are gonna run that pulley and ur not just looking to run the 3.33 or somethin and think u need the pulley mod..Honestly i would run the kit with the 2.87 pulley and see what you got and if you get any slip for some reason then do the pulley mod, just get the right belt size on and tighten it down right...Its not gonna hurt anything to get it but its just not something u need with the given pulley size

i know what you mean.. but getting the kit altogether saves me time and money.. those things aren't available next to me, and the earliest they can get shipped to me would be 7 days minimum. and on top of that, that's the only car i've got. so if it slips, that means the car will be parked for a while waiting for the part to reach, and i'll end up renting a car to go back and forth to work..

uhhh.. i totally agree with you on it being a waste of money if not needed, but i'm just trying to play as safe as possible and try to get away without having loads of issues.

thnx tho
