Turbo boys on ORC Twin Plate Clutch
hey there!
any of you turbo boys out there using an ORC (Ogura Racing) twin plate clutch?
im running a HKS GT3037 single turbo kit on mine at 0.35bar - 0.4bar and using the ORC twin plate clutch.
At idle CLUTCH OUT she makes some clatter only noticeable when windows open parked next to a wall.
At idle CLUTCH IN she starts to make MORE clatter and clinging clinging clinging.
At moderate acceleration she makes a little bit of clatter but under HARD acceleration, shes makes alot of clatter.
my only other previous experience with twin plate clutches is in a R34 GTR and back then, i used redline or HKS transmission of some sort and the clatter was less.
Then it seems the 6spd Getrag box in the GTR is supposed to ONLY use ATF (automatic transmission fluid) to protect longevity.
And from that, after the ATF went in, ALOT more clatter but i was assured that was normal and healthy with all the other GTR owners.
but now... im just wondering about the 350z and i thought id ask around first before i get the engine rebuild and cams in..
cant wait for the 1bar of boost! hahaha
thanks for all the feedback.

Thanks so much. There is more clatter than i wouldve expected but i think nothing to be alarmed i suppose.
Shifts are still rather smooth.
The occasional quick shift will cause it to grind abit but maybe im not clutching in all the way properly.
Im not sure on the power figures but im sure they are avail off HKS Japans website?
I know that ive been told after my rebuild at 0.9 - 1.1 bar to expect nothing more than 440 - 460whp.

All pipes came with the HKS kit so i dont think we had much to say about the positioning of the turbo and if we started chopping the pipes, wld affect my ability to resell the whole kit in future..
Now the car is already up for sale after 1.5 months of ownership. hehehe
