The vortech might be a good option, but it's still got the same problem as the ATI - or any centrifugal sc for that matter. You hit your power curve after you could really use it in normal situations. So, you'll get the doors blown off you and have a WHOLE lot of ground to catch on someone who has the low end torque and HP. The only way you'd win a race is if you had a rolling start ... a high RPM rolling start while speed shifting. Because as soon as you shift (normal shifting) you'd lose your UMPHH instantly. With every shift you'd lose ground.

What type of warranty is the DreamWorks offering? There design looks pretty intense... (expensive too?)

I assume that you would be in a gear that would have your rpm at 3000 or aboce in that type of situation. Should not take care of the problem? After all, full power with a lot of hp = no traction.

NOT hijacking, can someone post a link for the dreamkworkes i would love to read up on it, but for now im going with the VORTECH, trusted, and loved. They've proven themselves a trusted company, pretty much like STILLEN, and if you didnt have to modify MY PRETTY hood i would go with the stillen!!!

Thankz,
Erich

Launch is heavily affected by tyres and suspension setup. You ideally want the rear to squat down nicely when you launch and extend slowly (relatively speaking) back to standard perch as you pull out of the hole. So, if you're pumping high torque, you'll want to manage your suspension setup accordingly. Yes, you are correct. Lot's of power without grip and squat (sounds funny....) gets you NOwhere.

Centrifugal pumps have an inherent problem versus roots style blowers. They are basically crank/belt driven turbos. And require rpm to achieve full boost:ower & torque. So, the hope is that when you/vehicle do hit the power band... it comes on like a freight train (in other words...hold on!) and lets you make up some serious ground. You have to make up for a roots style blower having had 60lb-ft of more torque & 90 h.p. more than the centrifugally outfitted vehicle for (x) amount of distance and time. you could change the gearing in your diff. and tranny to help, but you end up setting your vehicle up for light to light racing and revving the hell out of the motor when your just cruising down the highway. The old muscle car people used to all be hell bent on having 4:10 (or better) gearing. But you wouldn't want to be in the car on the interstate because it always felt like you needed a couple more gears to shift into .... RPMs were screaming. You'll see the import drag cars have mega turbos, but wild gearing and diff ratios. You wouldn't ideally drive them on the street without switching them out. In normal street setups, having no work done to the tranny and diff (transaxle for FWD cars), it usually doesn't work out well for the hair dryer (centrifugal) unit. -----As long as the roots/eaton unit can 'hook up'.

Could you imagine an intercooled roots style blower on an AWD G35? These [cars] will be coming out soon.

That's my .02

Contact jimster716 here on my250z.com, he donated his car so that SC could be designed thus he might know something about its currenty progress.
