Wonder if you guys can advise.

Currently I have fully built engine with APS TT kit. Power will be around about 550 – 600whp. I have APS 2.5 inch exhaust and not happy with sound. I add X pipe which took away the rasp and deepened the sound.

I however want it too be very loud. Its not my daily driver so cabin noises is fine. The 3” APS Dual is a bit too expensive and was wondering if I should get our local exhaust place to fabricate an exhaust.

I have a 3.5” APS test pipe already. I also have access to 2 X 3” Exhaust mufflers. I would like to fabricate the piece between downpipes and mufflers.

The question I have is as follows:
- For deeper sound do I have to get resonators as well?
- Will it be raspy if I keep it true dual?
- Do you advise X or Y pipe for better sound?
- Will X or Y pipe impact performance on FI car?

With the test pipes why not just run GTM or similiar dual exhaust 3 inch??

 

for someone who has what your supposedly saying should know y-pipe not the way to go.... something smells fishy :/. Also i read on this forum big mufflers give you deeper sound? Also if your going to have a muffler shop do it, why not get 3.5 all the way threw so that your restriction is not your exhaust..(reason why i say this is because you got 3.5 down pipes to a 3 inch exhaust!)

I have a 3" exhaust for my single and Iam going to add a 3" resonator in the midpipe... if your running straight pipes I would add a resonator to quiet it down a bit.
