yeah they are a 26" MT ET street, which is the reason for hitting 5th...I go to the track maybe 3 times a year so i dont see buying another set in the future for me..I plan to go to the track this wednesday for the last time then sell my tires...I cant bump my limiter without a flash and really im not a fan of bumping the rev limit and F/I on a stock block DE..scary stuff

For the number of times you run.....getting a flash with a map to say....7000-7200 would be fine. That should be more than enough to keep you in 4th even on 26's. It wouldn't worry me all that much to be honest.....just my .02.

the whole thing comes down to being worth it to me..i could do this and im sure it would be great and have thought about it many times and would net me better times, but i would have to get the flash to bump my rev limiter which isnt cheap..around 5-600 bucks, then i would have to drive 4 hours to get on the dyno and re-tune for the added rpm's which isnt cheap, and honestly i dont know if i would have the fuel to safely run out that high, so i would probably have to add larger injectors as well, all to be able to get thru the traps in 4th gear maybe 3-4 times a year and pick up a little more power up top is probably not worth it to me, i think im done with the track after this next time wednesday and plan to sell the tires anyway..I plan to start another project car pretty soon for a track car (top secret)

Well, regardless...I think adding 109whp to my car is no joke so I'm happy for now. I'll get some cash saved up and add an exhaust soon with some other mods and slap on a 2.87 ( which I already have on the way ) and see what happens.

Thanks guys.

You made 420 rwhp with a 3.12 pulley on a non revup? what additional "minor" mods do you have? I had a revup using 2.87 with catback and then was able to make 440 @12 psi (on a dynojet). Just yesterday dropped my car off for retune. To get away from high PSI's i installed Stillen Headers, Stillen HFC to go with Stillen exhaust, and i went up in pulley size to 3.12. I am hoping to make a clean 420 RWHP @ 9 psi.

IMO the OP is making exactly what he should be for his supporting mods and non revup AT.

Just curious, what did you do for your fuel delivery? Did you upgrade your injectors and swap out the intank fuel pump, or did you use the Vortech FMU that comes with the full kit? If you are on stock injectors that may be the reason for your numbers. I think they are only 290cc.

good looking numbers, sounds about right, i was making 360 rwhp with a similar set up on my 03MT. i love how flat the torque curve it on those things.

yezzir.. ur scared of 12psi???? why not just get the 928 valve that bleeds off boost...u could stay with the 2.87 to bring the boost in sooner than the 3.12 and bring more torque in and bleed off anything more than say 10-11 psi or whatever u are shooting for...thats what i would do

I have 600cc injectors with a walbro intank pump.

ooh, more info on this! i'm planning to swap out my 2.87 for a 3.12 to lower my cylinder pressure, but would love to keep the 2.87 if i can cap my boost at 10psi (new tuner can hear slight ping above 10psi).

numbers are numbers, and ill be the first one to say that numbers are worthless..i just find it hard to beleive the stock exhaust is robbing the op like that..maybe though with the stock exhaust and the 20's and 5at combo it is happening..
your whp is right on. your trap speed says so.

While your overall numbers may look low your gains are on the money. Out of the box my vortech gained me 100whp and 50wtq.

So i read up on the and it sounds really good. has anyone used this product yet? im wondering if it as efficient and as reliable as they claim it to be. If that is the case then i will consider using my 2.87 pulley again.

Hmmm,
What ECU are you running.....wonder how happy some ecu's are gonna be with this bleeding off boost.

I didn't read up on it, but more importantly which way does it "fail"? By that does it fail open where it bleads as much boost as possible, or closed where it lets all boost go to motor?

just curious

Im running a Cobb AP. I believe it has some sort of a pressure sensor that opens up a valve to blow off any excess pressure.
