Took my Vortech G to the dyno...not sure what to think...
I took my car today to the dyno and I'm not exactly to happy with it, though maybe I'm asking too much?
My mods are:
Skunk2 Plenum Spacer
2.25" test pipes
Vortech kit with 3.12" pulley
Everything else is stock including the catback. Also, my car is a 5AT.
Here is my dyno:
This was with 23* of timing advance after 5K more or less on 93 oct ( supposedly...lol ). Also, no matter how much or how little timing...the graph would always look spiky...Doesn't matter if it was 20 or 15 or 12*. The power would just go up or down but the spike would always stay.
What are your thoughts?

well it seems to me your running very rich(or is it lean, i forget) before you get to 4k... maybe that could be the reason?? also number seem good for what you have but hey dyno maybe reading high. good luck

its not rich by any means..lean if anything until it levels out in the high 11's...if i lug my car down and hit it in say 4th gear it will start in the low 12's for a/f then level off around 11.7-11.8 until redline...your car is 5AT which sucks power up on the dyno but yes i agree the numbers are fairly low..see how it does at the track and what trap speed is and all....who tuned the car?

350whp looks about right if you figure in that you have a g35 and 5at (no cf driveshaft and AT power killer)
I did 340 with the 3.33 pulley, titek tp. My car had dynoed at 240whp previously on the same dyno NA.
Do you have a map showing the boost? What is your peak at?

Boost was not logged but my peak boost is 10psi at 7200rpm. My A/F ratio starts lean because I go WOT at 4K and by the time the wideband registers the rich mixture it'll take 300-400rpms or so. That part is fine. I'm doing the tuning myself with Osiris which can sometimes be a PITA but I think it's working pretty well right now.
BTW- I also have 20's if that matters...lol.

I guess maybe it's not so bad... I really want to get an exhaust though.
Also, anyone know why it's so wavy? Knock would show up as wavy lines but that would mean the I'd be having knock no matter what timing I have since every run had wavy lines.

^^^ Hey Daniel, Knock shows up more as a jaged line...yours has some dips and valleys but doesn't look super bad. Also the smoothing is at 0 on that sheet bring that up to 5 and see what it looks like. Dyno jets are super sensitive and reads every lil peak and dip when smoothing is at 0. Also the power your are making looks to be on point with a 5at so i wouldnt worry to much about that. What exhaust do you have on the car??

Also, what do you think about 22-24* of timing on 93 oct at 10psi? Doesn't that seem high? I knocked it down to about 20* after that cause I was scurred...lol.

If ur revving to 7200 i dont see how people can say those numbers arent low..I make 420whp/355ft. lbs on 9-10 psi...(3.12 pulley) with just minor bolt on's on a dynojet...big difference in numbers and im only revving to 6600???...5AT is not gonna suck that much up..Only difference there really is i have an exhaust..idk seems weird to me but guess not..

It would probably put you at around 395whp if you were 5AT...which is 45whp more than me but I can't see how I can gain that kind of power without more mods since my tune seems to be spot on. I don't know exactly what mods you have though but the only things I can think of are the following:
My oem exhaust is killing me.
The gasoline I am using sucks ( which I've been told it does, I'm switching ).
My 20's are horsepower vacuum cleaners.
My OEM bumper won't let enough air into the intercooler causing it to overheat ( My IAT will go to 140 with ease ).
My car simply sucks.
Or....your dyno reads really high...lol.

I think there are alot of inflated #'s that are posted so people get their hopes up too high. If you look back a few years ago when sentry had the greatest SC build at 477 hp, everyone was amazed. Now you see people saying they have the 3.33 pulley making almost 400
thats solid realistic power with the stock exhaust. Next time do a pull without the exhaust connected and they will give you an idea of how much power you could make with a decent aftermarket exhaust

useless post but I want tyler's vortech. I am very excited to supercharge my Z =). I don't have much input for the OP except for the fact that I am jealous that you are supercharged. =(

i have a 2003 6mt . full bolt on and stage 2 cams.. i made 377whp at 5800 rpm on the stock 3.33 pulley. also on a dynojet. ur automatic and the 20s are a bit of a difference.. if u were 6mt u probably would have higher numbers.. plus ur stock exhaust is leaving some power out.. usually people have breathing mods and that being why the hp output is different. vince from rt tuning has my dyno if u want to compare ask him to give u a coppy.

numbers are numbers, and ill be the first one to say that numbers are worthless..i just find it hard to beleive the stock exhaust is robbing the op like that..maybe though with the stock exhaust and the 20's and 5at combo it is happening..

my numbers are on a dynojet..I have been on 2 dynojets and 1 dynapack..the first dynojet said 408whp/345ft. lbs. and the 2nd dynojet said 420whp/355ft. lbs, the dynapakc was waay high....this is at 9.5-10psi..take it for what it is but both are pretty close..the trap speed shows the power is there so really dont know how the numbers would be high, also i am hitting 5th gear before the trap which is killing time and mph...
