well that all depends on the turbos used to make that power
but here's the PL links

so completely strung out, the standard GT35 is good for ~650.

When I said "big power" I was talking race numbers like 800+rwhp. But My main drive for this thread was deciding on what I want.
I didn't realize that the GT35 was such an unreliable turbo?? Seals, smoking and whatnot...
The powerlab uses a GT35 (albeit ia bigger A/R I believe) as well. What causes the smoking and seals going out on the APS vs. not on the PL kit?

Meh... Who needs a single turbo anyway when you can have an Audi badge and a pseudo R8 "blade" on your Z?

The Powerlab kit appears to be superior to the APS kit though. Costs more, but is more complete for my goals. Thanks alot for pointing it out to me, as I'd overlooked it before for some reason I'm not sure of. I'm giving it a closer look as we speak

Thats why I'm confused. Because the APS kit uses a Garrett Dual ball bearing liquid cooled turbo. GT3582R, the same turbo as the powerlab kit. A GT35 series with .82 A/R as I understand it. Sounded like a real nice turbo to me, and it appears to be the same one as in the Powerlab Kit.

I think that APS failed in two ways. They put a small (B) compressor cover on the turbo, so there is your max flow limitation. The oil return is also IMO a bad spot, because it is a completely closed loop. Once the car is off, the oil sits in the turbo and eventually the seals start leaking.

alright! its awesome to get some real professional input on these kits. I noticed that there was a 16psi max on the APS turbo. Booooooo!
Whats the max PSI airflow for the Garret GT3582R? More that 16psi I bet.

However, a single GT35R PowerLab kit on a stock displacement 3.5L maxed out at 29PSI. (It's in the first post of one of the links at the top of this page.)

It also depends on if they were running pumpgas or not. I'm willing to be that 16psi mas on APS was pump only. The powerlab up to 29psi was probably e85, racegas, or pump with a good amount of meth.

Power delivery is so much different on the VQ vs the 2JZ.
I know I and stylinz have had no problem walking or keeping up with supra's with 100+rwhp more.....the beauty of tq, and great flowing heads.....

Looks like from what I'm seeing there really is not a kit out there that seems to be the way I want it. Are these companies willing to sell components of their systems so I can build a custom one if need be? Just thinking out loud. I want to flames...

Powerlab i think makes over 900 and possibly 1K+hp with supporting mods n the gt37 turbo i believe. If thas not the hp ur looking for then damn son. What r u aiming for? lol
