I been looking thru the forum and cant find a consistent answer. What are the sparkplugs I should be using? 1 step colder correct?

I have a 2003 with vortech v2, stock pulley.

I found a thread a few weeks back recommending iridium plugs, they were 12.99 a piece ordering them to local autozone. I cant seem to find that thread now for the part number.

My friend says coppers would burn better but not last as long, like 30,000 miles instead of 100,000 with iridiums.

Anyways I dunno what part numbers I need on these plugs.

it honestly doesnt matter as long as they are 1 step colder.

what your friend said is accurate, so its up to you. You ask 30 FI guys and you'll probably get 50/50. I;ve always used coppers.

coppers are lfr6a-11 (ask for NGK 3672 at parts store as thats how they are inventoried)
iridiums are LFR6AIX-11 (NGK 6619)

 

Thanks for the reply. I called vortech just now and they said stocks are fine, as long as I dont use bigger pulleys and injectors or anything.

Is this correct? Seems like everyone says 1 step colder but I told this to vortech and they said stay with stocks unless u upgrade the vortech stuff.

I'm going on a 3500 mile trip at the end of this month and want to make sure its ok. And maybe get the best gas mileage.

 

you DO know you will not get 100k out of iridiums...just making sure

u can get them from vendors here

 

i usually change my plugs every other oil change, and im running right now 1 step colder plugs. just some food for thought, mind how you gap them especially since your FI now =)
