Regrets...

TN kit purchase not thinking ahead to if I blow the stock motor

Blowing the stock motor 3000 miles into FI venture

I regret sleeving my first build

I regret blowing up the "godly" sleeved motor up in 9000 miles with a weaksauce 525whp

I regret making the decision to re-sleeve-believing some truth and some BS in the process

I already regret the next time I drive my car, it will prolly blow up.

But....everytime I do this,

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0dYIoD6vxXE

...the feeling is out of this fawking world. Adrenaline + instant chub = I love my car for those few seconds, all problems in the world are forgotten. The seconds after when it spits coolant on my windshield I feel like an abused ***** that just got b!tch slapped-AGAIN. I know this isnt good for me, my health or my wallet, but I return to get b!tch slapped another day like an idiot.

No regrets. Over time small changes have been made to improve the set up I have.

I guess I "kind of" regret going APS ST but in the end I LOVE the way the car performs.

Since the $10+k being used for FI will never been seen again, how long do you FI guys plan on holding onto your "investment" for? 5years? 10years? Forever?

well, none of us look at it as an investment. Its play money that is not missed. We all do this knowing full well, that money is gone and can never be recoup'd.

So with that in mind, we keep the car til we get bored and want to sell. No different than any other person.

and 10K is only a drop in the bucket. Most of the guys making 600+ probably have $30,000 or more into their cars with all the mods.

I regret it all 100% when I look at my receipts.

Personally I will not ever sell my car. With that said everything is for sale for the right amount of money though.

Already spent about 25k on this car possibly more. It cant be seen as an investment but definitely something i wanted to keep in my garage forever. I could have used this money else where, or in this economic situation saved it but whats the point of regretting it? Like Alberto said, all is forgotten when im boosting =) Engine build in the very near future.

well said

She's in my garage in Arkansas at the moment. The few times I do get to driver her I get the warm fuzzies.lol

I havent spent nearly as much as the pros here, but im hoping this summer will be the end of my mods. I didnt build her for the track, just for a weekend warrior. Like others said, I could never part from her, the reciepts on money spent pays homage onto how much I luv her

With that set up the car drove like stock but with more power and gave me no issues ever. It wasn't the fastest thing on the street but it held its own. Since going "big" I have had so many issues some of them very minor but to the point it is very aggravating.

I regret not being a baller and do a built motor with TT instead of stock block TT. But the built motor is coming soon. No regrets as of now otherwise. Have been rather happy and surprised what it can do.

Regrets.... I have a few

Not finding my350z until after I bought my Z. I overpayed for what I bought and could have gotten a built twins setup for the same price.

Not staying with my stock block TN setup longer. It was fast, fun and simple.

Riding in friends cars that were much faster than mine. Once you feel the power of twins its hard to be satisfied with anything else.

Not just dropping my car off with a blank check at Forged for the first build.

Buying a built motor from the forum classifieds and getting screwed by a fellow VQ owner.

Not returning the APS Tuner kit to Z1 when it was dicovered they they lied when they told me the journal bearing turbos were just as good as the BB ones.

Wanting to try a different setup (one off APS turbos) and a brand new EMS (ViPEC) instead of a cookie cutter or more proven build.

Being the catalyst that has caused personal friendships and professional relationships to be strained or terminated and shops reputations questioned or damaged.

Being the F/I poster child for FIAL on the forum or a cautionary tale of how not to do a big F/I build.

Spending 5x the money I should have to have a car that still got whooped at the airstrip.

Not having the stones to do more of the work on the car myself... until now.

ALL THAT BEING SAID.... THIS

...the feeling is out of this fawking world. Adrenaline + instant chub = I love my car for those few seconds, all problems in the world are forgotten. The seconds after when it spits coolant on my windshield I feel like an abused ***** that just got b!tch slapped-AGAIN. are some of the truest words ever spoken. The day before my last motor died I told my wife "I enjoy this car so much. I can't ever imagine not having at least one car with at least 500whp for the rest of my life."

My only regret so far is being a guinea pig for a locked EMS that the company didn't want to support unless it was in their home state.

I will know how much fial I will have with a motor that was build and assembled between myself and Matt once I have it dropped and running in less than 2 weeks

I too also regret when I look at my receipts but i know AMEX is so full of win with my money
Everytime I get in my car I love it though, everytime i turn the key on i love everytime i hit boost i love it and everytime i spank someone out on the street i love when they ask me what do i got done to my car.
This is on stock block and what i also do love is how ignorant i am and knowing i will drop lots more cash for a built block because the power is starting to feel like the "norm" and i want moar.

. And wish I learned how to weld, I would have made my own kit. In all honesty I can't see myself driving another N/A vehicle, this is too much fun.
