Sell your car. Buy a newer used Z with an HR motor and a manual trans. Put a TT kit on the stock block and run ~500-550whp. It will cost you less $$$$ and down time than building what you have to work with.
Also.... its paid, not payed read it before you post it
edit-fawk I fail, this is an old a$$ thread, OP is prolly pushing around a shopping cart now a days
I usually agree with you, but not here. I think this is terrible advice.
IMO, we havent seen enough people running stock blocks at those levels. I know a few 3.7 motor owners who are boosted, and have dyno'd high numbers (one over 600whp), but they never drive the car at those levels. To say go ahead and run 550whp IMO, is a big risk, we just dont know if that is liable yet. Just because you saw one running at the airstrip doesnt mean it will hold up, time will tell.
get stage 1 short block from IPP and some sort of used FI kit... 500whp is hittin the ground runnin man... have u even ridin in a car with 500whp yet
I rode in a few Vette's and Mustang's with that sort of power. I might had out thought myself but this is why the forums are for to ask and learn right? I did opt for the 4.0FD for now until i start looking around for the right used kit that i can buy, but time will tell and eventually i'll start piecing something together.

OP, keep dreaming...
stock block HR 530 at the wheel on 10 lbs atm, no problems going on close to 4k miles now we'll see how it holds up (I'm pretty hard on it too)
