Default Trying to reach goal got questions.

So I just got my vortech kit installed and I want to reach my goal of 400whp. Iv been doing research and a bigger fuel system and the 3.12 pulley seem like a good idea. I was looking into 440cc injectors. But if I were to get these injectors do I need different fuel rails? Or can I just go with the injectors?I also know I'm going to need a good tune but will I need a different box other than the piggy back vortech came with? I'm sorry if these questions are stupid but it's my first car I have ever done this to and started having fun with. Thanks for any info

Hey easiest to just give me a shout.

For 400whp, you will want a number of things

1) 3.12 Pulley (& belt)
2) Fuel Pump (Walbro 255)
3) Injectors (DW 600cc, 440cc would be near maxed out and have to run to hard)
4) Clutch/Flywheel if you don't already have 1
5) Koyo Radiator to supply proper cooling for the setup
6) Oil cooler would also be ideal to provide enough cooling
7) Gauges to monitor your car, A/F, Boost & Oil Temp are most important

As far as the tune, you can reflash the box your Vortech came with, just need to find a shop that is able to do so. Please give me a call and we can get you setup with everything and would be happy to answer any other questions you have.

Thanks
Danny

These sound like Forced Induction questions to me. Perhaps this thread should be moved there.

Thank you! I have a heavy duty clutch, larger radiator And gauges. My vortech kit came with a 255 fuel pump if this is the one your talking about? Also with the 600cc will I need different fuel rails or are mine good?

Stock rails will work. A nice RFS would be a good upgrade but not needed at 400whp.

all you need is 600cc injectors a smaller pulley (go right to the 2.87) and retune.
I was making close to 500 on my vortech on the stock block with that basic stuff.

You had the older V3 blower right? Not the newer SCi?

So don't use the 3.12 pulley? I heard it's safer and can still achieve 400whp

it can be done, I made 368whp on the 3.12 pulley with the old V2 S/C and 440cc injectors, but i wish that i would have gone right to the 2.87 pulley and 600cc injectors

Dan what do you mean by "have to run to hard" when using DW 440cc?

means running an injector duty cycle>>90%. you dont wanna run over 80% or so for reliability. You want the biggest injectors your EMS can steadily control.

If I was to do my vortech setup all over again, I would go straight to the DW800 cc injectors no doubt. But then again I was maximizing my old V3 with ~500whp.

Would 380WHP be alluding to running over 80% of the 440cc injector cycle? Also what are the tell-tale signs of reliability issues.

injectors that are constantly over run with high IDC's will eventually freeze and fail. You'll know when that happens cuz your car will run like crap.
