So what size injectors did you go with? You're right the return fuel system isn't really necessary just yet. You could go with one step colder spark plugs, and a boost controller I didn't see those on your list.

So I went to get a tune last Saturday at Performance Motorsports in Long Island, NY. 06Z33 went to get his car tuned as well, he has a 2006 Z with breather mods, and 350Zion came along for the ride.
06Z33 got his car tuned first, then my car was to go next but they said they wouldn't have enough time to tune my car, so they'll get to it on this Tuesday (yesterday). I didn't wanna have to drive my car back home, then drive back again, so I just left the car there so they can finish it up on Tuesday.
The tune was going to run me $800.00, which i don't think is bad at all. Yesterday I called up Alex at Performance Motorsports to see if they started tuning, he told me that there's a problem. I'm running 800cc Deatchwerk injectors, and he said those injectors are too big. They'll have to scale them down during the tuning process and that will take double the time, and the car will also run into idling and startup issues. He recommended that I scale the injectors down to 440cc, then do the tune. He said he can get the injectors for me, install them, and then tune and that everything will cost $1500.00. I figured that since the car is already there, I might as well just go do it.
I would appreciate some input on this. I assumed that my HR motor would be able to run fine with 800cc injectors.
Edit: He recommended I run about low to mid 400's on my stock block.

I don't have a boost controller. I'm running 800cc injectors and 370z spark plugs.
wow, i really hope you didnt waste money on 440cc on your car.
So, its 800$ to tune, and 700$ for to change injectors. Why not just pay him for "double" the time and have it done properly, with proper sized injectors. No disrespect, but your tuner just sounds lazy or incompetent.
440cc injector is retarded and about the dumbest thing you could add to the build. way too small

That's what I gathered from reading and researching on the forums, which is why I did the 800cc injectors. They already ordered the injectors and are installing them today, then tuning it.
I would've spent the extra to tune the 800cc, but Alex told me it wouldn't idle properly and i'd have startup issues. I didn't wanna doubt him, because my knowledge is limited to what I read online. I assume they know what they're doing, considering they are a reputable shop. I'm waiting for other tuners to chime in.

^^^ Running the 800cc injectors could give you slight hot start issues but are usually able to be tuned out. We have tuned several 800cc setups and they came out as good as the 440/600cc tunes that we have done dozens and dozens of. HR's are usually better with idling and such, cause of the 2 mafs to split the airflow they seem to handle it better. The last Greddy HR we did ended up with 420hp at 6lbs of boost tuned on 600cc injectors and fired up hot/cold great everytime...
Hope this helps.
Thanks, Vince

Appreciate the input. I guess I'll run those 440cc for now, until I do Meth Injection and install that GTR manifold. I'll retune with the 800cc later on.

I'm running 800cc on stock fuel system with just rakhal and kenne bell boost-a-pump and it idles and hot starts perfect...had a slight problem at first but found out had an exhaust leak which was giving inaccurate readings on one of the haltech wideband sensors but a gasket and new sensors fixed that problem easily...the passenger side wideband sensor was bouncing around looking for 14.2 ratio but couldn't find it with the exhaust leak...

Lol, it's all good Ray haha.
I'll do over the EMS when I build the motor next year. I spent enough already this year.
I spoke with Alex today from Performance Motorsports, he clarified a couple things for me and why the 440cc was a better choice. So I'm a happy camper now. Just gotta wait to drive it

Picked up the car on Saturday, it's running good so far. Didn't go to crazy with it on the ride back home, because, 1. My tires are bald as ****, and 2. I've never driven a turbo car before until that day.
The car is ridiculously powerful, an entirely different beast. It's putting down 437 to the wheels at 6psi, or maybe it's 5psi, i gotta see what the waste gate springs specs are. I'll post up the dyno sheet later on today.
Just got question:
What should my oil temp and a/f gauge be reading when the car is idling, and also, when it's in motion? My a/f always fluctuates during idle between 16 - 18.
Also, yesterday i started my car on two occasions and then the rpm dropped and the car shut off. I started it right back up and it was alright. I'm guessing the car is still getting use to the new system and tune?
