Default 6 puck on stock drivetrain

I have an enthuisiast with a LSD. Engagement is on or off as you know, and hearing that "thump" when I shift at my rear diff pains me. I am wondering if a 6 puck is too hard on things?

Lots of cars run well over 600whp with stock drivetrains aside from the clutch several use very aggressive clutches like tiltons. That dosent mean you didn't hurt something. I would jack it up and have a look to see if something is loose (diff mounts) or if you tore a diff bushing it does happen. Solid diff mounts or a diff brace may be a cheaper solution than replacing the clutch if you feel that is the issue.

The post is not clear

Do you have a 6 puck, or are you considering a 6 puck?

Sounds like you blew your diff mount, which should be obvious by the black silicone leaking out onto the rear of the subframe. You should never hear a thump from the rear end.

I run the RPS six puck setup on my z and yes it is very aggressive but my diff does not thump when shifting hard. BTW i also run the Z1 trans mount with the stiff urethane bushing and the injected diff brace.

I have an ACT 6 puck currently. I will get under there tonight and take a look at my diff mounts.

I hope it wont be difficult to diagnose. I'm looking for pieces of hard rubber that make up mounts, scattered around on the subframe?

you'll be looking for black ooze on the subframe. 100% obvious
