Also, FYI Sharif is alive and well. He's always on facebook. There was a sharif impostor on there yesterday that caused quite a stir, but I think that profile was deleted after everyone reported it.

Everyone seems to be getting GTRs or 370Zs it seems dead over here lately.

It is so dead here I find myself in the media share section looking for action in the stretched tires threads.

Raj, I'm stationed at Ft Hood with Jay. We got some bad rain, thunderstorms from Tropical Storm "Hermine." That's when it happened. I guess it was too exposed to the rain with his vented hood. Hydro guards FTW!!

still doesnt make any sense. filters are hydrophobically oiled. every single STS setup with ther filters UNDER the car would have been hydrolocked if that was case.

should be a nice insurance check regardless. fast track a new built block. hopefully he gets it back on the road quick!

Well I for one am just starting into FI with my G35, so it's not totally dead in here! Maybe you should check out the tuning forum since that's where I post most often...

i think economy has hit hard that there aren't a lot of newer envelop pushing projects in the pipeline.... 370z is just developing whored out aftermarket parts list, so its getting more action.... but still... a lot of the 'dying" kinda happened i think as economy and vendors started getting hurt by it and delaying prjs.... i am sure there are plenty new Fi 350z but nothin worth getting excited over as if it was 2006...i mean come on... we just had a turbonetics thread again lol

I am always around...

This is always how the VQ community has always been. Deep pockets with little DIY ingenuity. Alot of the big "wow" goals have already been hit since the platform is 7 yrs old.

But not much continuing education. This is the only forum I read that doesn't have an active E85/alt fuel section. Only forum that doesn't have active DIY tuning. Only forum where most "builds" mean bolting on a turbo kit and paying someone to do so.....

This is a fun forum to participate in, but when tryin to learn something new, gotta read elsewhere for the most part.

I have stopped reading on G35driver. reminds me of the civic forums. Like this gem http://g35driver.com/forums/g-spot/3...eelin-out.html

Agree so much and its annoying. I've had the Cobb AP a while and just switched to the Uprev and I cant even look anywhere for help. I notice you try to give people pointers often. I wish there were more out there.

Exactly the same way I feel, when I joined here I was hoping to learn a little more about VQ35s, and get a few tips on DIY things, then quickly went back and stayed at my home town (maxima.org) lol, not such deep pockets and lots of DIY ingenuity in addition to a lot more VQ knowledge.

Between myself and GT-ER (as well as a few vendors like Vince at RTT and Jared) you'll be fine tuning your Uprev assuming you've got some tuning experience. It didn't take me long at all to get the help I needed here. I think alot of you guys are forgetting that our platform is still much newer and higher priced (at least until recently) than all the others we're being compared to. Be patient and you'll find what you need for now, and eventually the backyard tuner crowd will catch up.
