if numerous people aren't having problems with the belt under the pully...why should people be worried? bonz said his works better and is quieter under the pulley. he's happy with it that way...if he runs into a problem...i know he'll let us know on the forum...but, he's happy with is as is.

I don't disagree with you at all, just letting everyone know what ATI has to say about it. I may even try it because I can't adjust my belts the way they are, the front one is too long (no more adjustment) and the back one is still loose. Apparently the parts guy at Grubbs Infiniti in Texas can get different belts (shorter), I'm waiting for him to call me back. It's great hearing eveyones experiences with their setup, it's really helpful.

Thanks again,

Actually, I tried moving the tension pulley as far "up" as the adjusting screw would permit, but it was too, too tight; so I kept it the way it was, above the pulley. This way I still have room for adjustment, and I am not one for forcing it, anything for that matter, to fit.

I noticed that when I increase the tension it sounds louder.

Interesting. I was told at one time (just before I changed mine) that ATI had originally intended on it being UNDER like mine is now. I was either misinformed or ATI has changed their minds on this.

The points they mentioned seem to make sense but what doesn't make sense is the smooth pulley contacting the toothed belt.

I think I'm still going to leave mine this way since it seems to be under the perfect tension and seems to squeal less when I start it. I guess the worst that can happen is I'll be buying belts more often.
