Default Hard hot start

Hey everyone!

So I have searched and searched and now out of ideas. So here it goes. 2004.5 g35 with GTM TT stage 1 6 psi Osiris tuned. Cold start is fine and strong. The issue is hot start. It will just keep cranking and cranking. It only happens when I've actually driven somewhere. So coolant and oil up to temp. Doesn't do it if I just get the coolant up to temp. I have absolutely no clue what could be causing it. The iat and ect are both normal. Checked with cipher. Any ideas would be great! Thanks everyone!

Is it cranking slow or at the normal speed? Weak battery could cause it to turn over slower than normal and be difficult to start. Starter going bad could also be a problem. When hot, the internal resistance rises making it harder to get the starter to run at normal speed, that make it hard to start the engine.

It's cranking at normal speed.

Thanks! I'll send it to you as soon as I'm home. What do you think may be wrong with it?

The hot start tables most likely need to be adjusted

It takes time to work these issues out (or to do the tune right from the beginning) but many tuners will try to tell you this is 'normal'. In a nutshell, it's all in the tune.

Osiris doesn't have a 'hot start' or 'cold start' map. Cranking enrichment adjustments might help a little. Hot start / cold start issues with Osiris are usually signs of a deeper problem in the tune such as injector scaling or MAF calibration. I ended up having to do a complete retune from the ground up to get rid of my starting issues.

I know very well what Osiris offers; I've tuned a couple of them. I just misspoke when I said 'tables'.

I have the same problem. Dont know if this is true but a few people have told me that because the injectors are bigger, the engine get too much gas on the start up and is difficult to start. Therefore after you let the car sit, some of the gas dries out and is then able to start easier.

At the sake of repeating myself: it's all in the tune. If you throw in bigger injectors and don't make the right compensations in the right areas for the added flow, you will have starting issues.

I had hot start issue with my ID 725CC injectors on my vortech system. After break-in period I took it back to my tuner and the issue was fixed. Tuned with uprev! Your tuner should be able to fix it.

I have ID 725cc injectors on my N/A set up I also had a lot of problems with hot starts. I took it to Uprev and had the car retuned by a pro tuner and problem gone.

I was going to install a set of DW 600cc that I bought new from a member but my tuner went against it. He said he had trouble getting the 600 hot start issue fixed. I sold the dw and went with his recommendation on ID 725cc.

I was just talking about this same issue, and found it convenient that this thread is bumped. The shop what is doing my work installed ID1000s, which I think are to large, and will cause a hot start issue.

My Uprev pro-tuner is working on a G35 this Saturday with a hot start issue, and has informed me that with the latest update, hot start tables have been either added, or tweaked to the software.
