Can't they make E85 from Hemp? LOL

On a side note, there's at least 2 stations near me that do E85.

I use E85 on my 13:1 LT1 camaro, it is an excellent inexpensive replacement for racing fuel. Allows for more aggressive timing and detonation prevention. I tuned mine with Tunercat, datalogged with Datamaster, and used VEmaster to dial in volumetric efficiency tables. I don't think it is a good option for a DD as E85 varies in purity from station to station and between the seasons, so its hard to get dead on.

If I run pure e85 for 400whp. Would 750cc injectors with a single pump be enough? (stock engine)

I want to run it for greater margin of safety. (we only have 91 octane here)

With cruise control on and 75mph flat interstate, expect about 16mpg. But around town, and blasting away from light to light it's about 10mpg.

Since E85 requires ~30% more than fuel, doesnt that mean that it wont be a good idea for daily driving? Yes it may be cheaper, but you have to fill more often, basically not a great idea in my opinion(for daily) unless im not getting this right?

nah you wouldnt want to us this on a daily that you put lots of miles on.
Of course, you wouldnt use a 600+whp tune as a daily either.

I’ve got an E85 station about 7 miles from my house and 2 miles from my office, but I still wouldn’t run E85 without ProEFI’s Flex Fuel setup in my car. Once the motor build goes down I’ll be making the switch, little value on a stock block VQ though IMO.

evo and supra guys run 2 maps(e85 and pump) all the time. thats pretty standard. the flex fuel is nice to have, but not necessary. when you go to a built block, probably a good time to swap to the 128 box as well.

Yeah, the plan is to eventually switch to the 128 computer once the block is reinforced…but, I’m in no rush to build the motor though, 360 – 400 whp is keeping me entertained while my pocket’s recovering from single turbo kit and 48 computer, lol

But E85 alllows for race fuel levels of boost and power...that's the main reason for doing it, coupled with it's cheap price at the pump of about 2.50/gallon. Not for fuel economy or mileage concerns.

thats easier in the midwest. there are long sections in the SE where you;d have to go pretty far out of your way to get e85. Theres not any E85 stations near Daytona, where I spend a bunch of my winter. closest is 100 miles away in Jax or Orlando. pump gas and 25gph of meth works pretty good as an alternative.

don't be a hater just because you do'nt have e85 in your area Danny!

it's simpler once it's all tuned, just throw fuel in and drive.
